Hey, guys I have a 2DS on 11.5.0-38E. I tried 2 different R4i gold 3DS cards and while the Konami icon pops up on the menu, when I start it, the screen goes black and it says instantly "an error has occurred, please hold the power button...". On a DS lite they both work flawlessly.

I'm guessing that the 2DS blocks both flashcards. If you know how to fix this please share, thanks!

Maybe. You should post pictures of the cards, since there are way too many different "R4" products under similiar names

If the website printed on the card still exists, check for mentions of 7.0 compatibility - that's the last version to have blocked DS flashcards

They were both bought recently from nds-card, the sponsor of the site. And the website on the sticker is www.r4ids.cn

The cards are a good brand, then - but have them been reflashed? What about the consoles, have they ever done a ctrtransfer and/or downgrade?
On a different 2DS and 3DS they worked only this 2DS is stubborn. I dont know what is the story of this 2DS other than the firmware it has. Both R4i cards worked out of the box just not on this 2DS.

Sure. It's the wood 1.64. I don't know if there's also some kind of patch I need to run other than installing wood.

sorry if i was confusing but i meant the consoles sd card
Yeah after I posted I thought that's what you meant. Will try to find a reader for that one. Meanwhile I tried 2 retail DS games. One(gta chinatown) simply hangs at black screen and the second(lego indiana jones) gives same "error has occurred" message. But with both games it shows the icon in the menu.

it sounds like it had (or has) cfw (sometime installing cfw screws with ds functionality) if so and if it (currently) has cfw its an easy fix . . . thats why i want to see
. . . of course there are other ways for me to know
power off the console hold start (or select) and power on . . . what happens ?

Sorry for the double post. I tried to mount the SD but nothing happens so I cant see what is on there. Also the start/select just boots normally so nothing there.
