Surprised, I expected more 'I don't need this therefore so don't you' or 'this is pointless' comments.

I find it weird just because it already contains a web browser we can access and exploit.

Not having a full web browser because of security at this point is like complaining about locked doors while having a hole in the wall.

We'll see. That looks more like a specs sheet for Shield, though.

EDIT: Nevermind, your sheet is for Switch, but it also verifies what I was saying. "60 FPS, at a maximum of 1920x1080 pixels, OR 30 FPS at 3840x2160 pixels." Next to Video Output. Then shows that they chose the former for "functionality available from the application." The decoder is capable of 4K, but the max output is 1080p.
Well yeah, but there's nothing stopping them from enabling 4K video output just for Netflix and YouTube.

You're assuming the extra lanes on the USB-C necessary for 4K output are available and it's just a matter of enabling them. It's equally likely it's not capable of outputting 4K at all as a hardware limitation to save money. Guess we'll see.

If as people have said the dock is capable of HDMI 1.4 then 4K output should be possible. It's not a matter of extra lanes (USB-C only has so many anyway)

"Save money" just like on the phones without OTG only because they didn't want to run 2 more lines between processor and usb controller, are PCBs even cheaper the less wires they have?

There is no need for a Switch browser. Period. Just like there is no need for an Xbox Browser or a PS4 Browser (don't know if they have one). Having an internet browser on a console really makes no sense, because in any scenario when you could use a browser on a console, you would be able to use a phone or (less likely) a computer. If you are putting down the Switch for not having an internet browser you are really just covering up your other problems which may not be as severe as you would like them to be.

Honestly I agree for home consoles, but the fact that the Switch can be used as a tablet, it's really quite silly that holding something the size of an iPad mini doesn't equip you with basic Google searches to say the least

Not sure actually, just a theory. If Switch was 4K capable, even for video streaming, I would think that's something Nintendo would've put a focus on marketing-wise, and they also would've had more streaming apps at launch.
