I figured it out. Left joycon is the key.

Here are the steps:
1) Set date to July 11th. Go to Home Screen.
2) Place select cursor on News. (don't open it though)
3) Remove right joycon only. Press down direction on the control stick.
4) You will see indication on the screen to press the shoulder button on the left joycon. (Shows the button in GREEN. This is a Good sign!)
5) Press the shoulder button on the left joycon as you remove it from the Switch.
6) Lay the left joycon on the floor. (must be lower elevation than the Switch system)
7) Hold the right joycon in your hand, face the ir sensor towards the left joycon on the floor.
8) Hold the ZR shoulder button on the right joycon (keep the joycon facing the floor)
9) VERY IMPORTANT STEP
You must step on the left joystick and press the button (this is simulating the golfball on the tee)
10) With the left joystick button held down, rear back and take a swing.
11) You must release the left joystick button and right joycon ZR button at the same time, as your swing passes over the left joycon's position.
12) floG will launch

Pics to follow...

Way too detailed to happen accidentally and the left Joy-Con can't detect its elevation relative to the console.

Not to say I won't be trying it...
Funny thing is I actually started following it until I noticed the absurd steps.

Why the fuck do I care so much? I have to head to work soon jesus christ

Yeah, I read it seriously until I got to 5. Then I was like WTF.

Funny thing is though, I've already tried setting the left Joy-Con on the floor and using the IR on the right Joy-Con to point at it and swing. Too bad that's not the activator, as it'd be pretty cool.

Heeeeeyooooooo! It's been a while man, how've you been? Been so long since the PSvita forums.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand back on topic.

Yeah this is a weird emulator-y thingy on the switch. Golf and whatnot.

All of these devs are trolling you all, they keep changing what they are saying and you all keep falling for it.
I don't think you've been following properly then.
Literally the only thing that changed was the X button which was quickly ruled out.

It always was about July 11th, and doing a Joy Con gesture. Apparently supposed to be done on the Home Menu, now. They're looking into the Joy Con gesture portion.

Serious question:

Did anyone ever actually try flogging the joycons while the Switch is docked? Or there was a tweet I missed that said "docked/undocked is irrelevant" ?

I am going to repeat my question here, because it is a new page after all.

I think it's irrelevant, but I use my Switch docked all the time. I tried.

Ive followed this from start to finish, they are trolling you and they probably DO know how to launch this but just not saying.... have YOU been following all their tweets?

Hm...

Because I am looking to see if there is a timed event to trigger the qlaunch, rather than triggering it through motion gestures.

As in, you do a gesture, the you need to wait for some time, before the console triggers the qlaunch.

My speculation has to do with how motion gestures are interpreted from an electronic device's stamdpoint. There exists a set of events that tells the console to start listening for the motion gestures, and when to stop listening, before processing the gesture data into a form of data that can be compared. It is this data that will trigger the qlaunch.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.

Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
