Homebrew The death of Minecraft 3DS Clones?

In the Nintendo Direct on the 13th, they (which I still can't believe) announced Minecraft for N3DS. My immediate thought was if stuff like Minicraft was essentially useless now. So...is it?

edit: by "clones" i mean homebrew clones. not meaning to be in the wrong forum lol

Realistically? Yeah. Unless the official version runs like ass... Not to mention it seems to be an N3DS exclusive.

Minicraft is its own thing imo. The other commercial clones like Battleminer etc. have already made an illegitimate fortune so their creators will be fine.
(Keep in mind too that the clones are still about 1/5th of the price of minecraft and pretty decent in their own right)

cube creator seems to at least have a cult-like following in Japan, so that one will be fine. The others, I don't think are going to do too well now.

I hope not... I've seen some impressive ones with much further draw distance than the official Minecraft. Plus, the "competition" to create good Minecraft clones is great. I like seeing everyone's knock-offs.

i suggest you use Paul's Freeshop fork instead.

the pc version probobly runs best it mainly used cpu and barely gpu

Yes, I think 3DSCraft is a good project but useless now if you have a N3DS. o3DS users may prefer HB clones.

The cache is automatically updated every monday, wednesday and saturday (iirc). Only in Paul's fork.

Playing it right now. It runs fine. Controls are great. It doesn't seem to have multiplayer though.
