Uh, really? Why is there a "Dump USB device" function then?
I saw there are two versions: wfs-extractor and wfs-file-inject so that's kinda weird if you can't dump data from USB...

Look at this thread though!

xD You can dump but you can't decrypt, WFSlib cannot permit it for the moment. You can inject using wfs-file-inject and it's not wfs-extractor, but wfs-dumper.

So how can people recover their savefiles using this? as it's said on this thread
I just wanna recover some saves, nothing more

I'm pretty sure that guy is wrong. wfs-extract is made for dumping the contents of Wii U formatted drives.
If you manage to get all the files off it, then you should be able to copy them onto another drive (or the same drive after formatting it again) by using ftpiiu everywhere, it will take a while though.
Though, it might not work since your drive is failing.
Still worth a shot though.

wfs-dumper was renamed to wfs-extract from what I can tell.

My HDD itself is perfectly working, the problem comes from some corrupted files I think! I just want savefiles, not the whole storage haha. :)

Now I need to know how much storage I need to dump my HDD... whole capacity (320GB in my case) or just the taken capacity (like 70GB on 320)?

I know about that, I already tried with my WFS HDD, and I needed an image.

Raw dump of your WFS HDD will be 70 GB I think.

When I made a 1:1 image of my HDD, it was 320GB so I don't know if it will be the same with wfs-extract

Look at this command written in wfslip GitHub :
"Dump USB device under Windows : wfs-extract --input \\.\PhysicalDrive3 --output dump_dir --otp otp.bin --seeprom seeprom.bin"

it doesn't need an image I think...

That's what I think. Now I need to fix CoD Ghosts xD. Still, if it does work again, well stick with it and wait for a WFS "real" decryptor.

It creates it, you don't need it. "Dump" means you create an image of your drive.

Why do guys from other threads manage to recover their savefiles with this tool?
If it just gives an image, it's not different from USB Image Tool etc...

Yes, wfs-extract decrypts your USB HDD (or its image file). You can recover your save files with this tool.

Oh well, My bad sorry. Actually saw that they finally implemented the "extracting function". But still they didn't implement the "injecting folder" thing.

Cannot do mine, since my WFS is a 1Tb drive and that.... I already have almost 200 Gb of data used.

It would only take up as much space as is in use on your HDD as it dumps the contents of the drive.
If the dump is not too corrupted, it should work, some of the data might be corrupted though.

I hope so then!

At the same time, do a disk drive integrity check to see if the drive is corrupted, if it is, it is not good to use it anymore.

chkdsk and CrystalDiskInfo tell everything is OK! I guess it got corrupted because the enclosure's mini-USB port was very sensitive but it's just a "theory" :P

OK guys, here are some news:
I managed to use wfs-extract and get some saves! It seems to have messed up on my brother's BoTW save
I (theorically) lost like 2-3 games saves so it could have been much worse...

but there's still a problem: how can I replace save files? I tried with MK8 that I installed on another USB Drive (just to test) and ftpiiu everywhere and it didn't work. I compared the save file size with a one I took from here and they're both the same size... is there any simple way to restore my saves?
