2017 marks the 30 year anniversary of Capcom's Street Fighter series, so they decided to team up with "Iam8bit" store to re-release Street Fighter II on an actual SNES cartridge to mark the series' 30th anniversary. The collectable legacy cartridges are priced at $100 and come with extras. There will be a limited run of 5500, while 1,000 of them will have a cart glow in the dark a green color to match Blanka's, and the rest are Opaque Ryu Headband Red, though which color you receive is ultimately random.

The cart comes with fire safety warning to exercise extreme caution when playing the game on your system.

WARNING: Use of this reproduction game cartridge (the “Product”) on the SNES gaming hardware may cause the SNES console to overheat or catch fire. The SNES hardware is deemed a vintage collectible, so please exercise extreme caution when using the Product and make sure there is fire extinguishment equipment nearby. Use of the Product is at the sole risk of the user.

lam8bit has that warning on all reproduction carts. they had to avoid trouble from a certain company. in my experience, reproduction carts only get slightly warmer then the original carts in some very few instants.

on the other hand they only sale repro cards for a short time and not very often. We are talking maybe once every 2 years max

Yeah well, no one want's a fire hazard warning on any product not intended for fire use. Capcom has no issues with asking nintendo for producing carts for such a reason, but capcom went with the cheaper option which I assume nintendo would have been some problems during agreements and such. Of course I can be completely wrong but still. Why not just make a original "Licensed by Nintendo" cart? :P

Why would I want something that I can even use on native hardware?
You implying you would play this game? Cause I never heard you talk about playing street fighter before. So you like street fighter? :)

I play the classic games here and there on my SNES. I grew up playing both MK2 and Street Fighter 2.

Sound just like me. Though I thought you said you didn't like playing fighting games cause you wasn't good at them. Or was that just pokken tournament?

Yeah maybe, except when I play for "extended periods" I never got any fire problems, and trust me, I played street fighter 2 a lot before. Specially the turbo hyper fighting edition which is on the snes classic, cost $20 less and has 20 more games, with 2 controllers and runs in HD! Only people who would want this is collectors, buying snes classic is a better option, with a better game. Even ultra street fighter 2 on switch is $40 that about half from both the $100 cart and snes classic, which again a better game. You could buy a ps3 or xbox 360 and buy Super street fighter 2 HD, or the game they made 15 years ago. Street fighter anniversary edition, which again offers more and has a better game.

Out of all revisions of street fighter 2, they choose a game that was the first one, and not the latest one, and even worst, is not the first game that started the series, even though it sucked, still why would this game? :wtf:

As much as i like capcom, this wasn't a good idea in my opinion, maybe collectors will appreciate it but I would have appreciated street fighter anniversary edition HD edition (with online modes) across all consoles, Ultra street fighter 4 port to nintendo switch, even Street fighter X mega man 2, anything but this. :hateit:

I just suck at Tekken games, there's just something about how they handle that I can't get used to.

Is not cause is 3D instead of 2D right? May have to consider teaching you something playing a fighting game with you sometime. :ninja:
It's more how they control and I can't really explain it other than I suck at them. There's just something about them that stumps me when I try to play 'em

You're gonna wanna take me up on that offer. :ninja:

Honestly I agree, 2D fighting games are less complex for most people. There is variety of them which try to be unique, 6 button attacks, 4 button attacks... a block BUTTON

Then adding 3D and now is like 2 attacks, but with over 100 combinations and not only that, combining one set of combos into another to extend it for like 15 seconds. Honestly we played street fighter 2 without combos and it was just as fun throwing fire balls and spinning kicks. Now is all about performing a devastating combo that takes way too much patience and execution of flawless accuracy and timing. I expected pokemon to be easy or least work for you considering is a nintendo game, they would want it accessable to play by anyone. Any easier and it would be hyrule warriors, or those Naruto games... which kinda play like dynasty warriors.
