Like the title says my 2DS is convinced that it is a 3DS. I honestly don't completely remember what I've done to this thing but... I think I had tried to install A9LH at some point but got stuck after downgrading to 2.1, then it sat around and recently I made the mistake of doing a system restore on it. So it had the typical "you need to move the 3D-slider" during setup problem. I have a couple of NAND backups of the system so I just did a hardware mod and restored the NAND from when I first got the console. So now it's on 7.2 but when I go into the system settings it still displays a 3DS logo instead of the 2DS logo. I tried restoring the NAND using Decrypt9 as well in case for some reason it did have A9LH on it and that was causing some sort of problem, but it didn't change anything.

So basically confused as to why I would still be getting a 3DS logo after restoring a virgin NAND back to the system. I'm trying to sell it so even though it works now it still isn't quite back to "stock".

Since you have a hard mod, you could just try updating via the internet and see if it's still messed up after updating. If still messed up use the hard mod and flash back to 7.2.

I stand to be corrected,
but I think that doing NTRboot on the 2DS should resolve the problem.

If NTRboot can save bricks, no reason why it can't solve this.
(after all, the procedure doesn't even need NAND backups, just CTRtransfer.)

Oh wow so I'm dumb. Turns out every 2DS shows the 3DS logo screen when going into settings. The only time it actually shows the 2DS logo screen is when you set it up for the first time. I did a factory restore and it was totally fine lol.

Yeah, I didn't want to say anything...
