Yes actually it is. Good luck getting something as powerful as a PS4 into the size of the Switch at a price of $300 to the consumer. In a few years, sure that will be doable, but right now the tech isn't up to par with that yet.

I know that, but this isn't the Witcher 3, it's a Sonic remaster, every version should be running perfectly.

That doesn't make it less portable, that means you just choose to not use it in that way. Don't mean to be rude, but that doesn't decrease the usefulness of the feature just because YOU don't use it. Sorry.

Sure, but that doesn't make it objectively the best version like you claimed. It may be the best version for you because of the portability, but not for everyone.

Not for people who use their switch exclusively as a home console.
But that's a nonsense. The whole point of the Switch is it's portability. If that doesn't matter to you, of course you should get the PS4 version.

I have work every day and 2 baby kids at home so my PS4, Xbox One and PC never really get used. Switch all the way.

Have you actually played the Switch version?

So this version is the exact same thing as the others, but with more features, and its not the best because you don't use the feature? Whatever....

Lol, It's clearly not the exact same, there are frame drops in special stages and lag when you press the home button.
1) it will be patched, I'm sure.
2) The special stage lag is literally a single small section of a single track. The framerate doesn't even slow the game down, just frameskips a bit for MAYBE 2 seconds....
3) What does the home button lag matter? Does waiting 2-5 extra seconds really bother you that much?

Main point: Yes, it has some MINOR bugs for now.... whats the problem? They don't effect gameplay AT ALL.

I've honestly not noticed frame drops in any of the special stages. Though I've only played the game in docked mode, I'm not sure if thats an issue that only occurs in handheld mode or what.

Frameskips and lag don't affect gameplay? Ok.

I thought it was a docked mode issue tbh, special modes are annoying to play, esp. since the normal stages are so buttery smooth.

Ok, having this on Xbox One and Switch, I can say I don't have a preference. The Switch one gets played more because I can put my Switch in my pocket... And I vary rarely game on TV unless its a fighting game, and even then... Either way, the home button thing never really bothered me because I only usually go back to the home screen after I put it to sleep, and I never noticed the frame drops on the special stages either. To be honest, the minor complaints everyone has with this game, should tell you that we finally got the Sonic we always wanted, and Sega has acknowledged issues with those minor things and will probably fix them, if not have already submitted the fixes.

Well if there are frame drops I've not noticed at all, gameplay still seems as smooth as ever in the special stages. But maybe they are happening and I just don't notice, if that's the case then they certainly aren't detrimental to my gameplay in any way.

See my posts. The 1st special stage has a very small section that can lag a tiny bit. Easy to miss it, I did my first playthrough. The rest of the special stages work perfectly.

They are happening but not many people are sensitive to framerate issues so I don't blame you. DF has a video documenting it, frames drop as low as 50.

Its literally ONLY the first special stage for a very small section of it. Your salt levels are unreal....

Projecting much?

I bought the Switch because it was the next Nintendo home console not specifically because it's a home/portable gaming console, that's cool but not the main reason.
