ROM Hack Extract a game on PC, without 3DS and decrypting it?

Hi.
In order of updating my tutorial and tool, I heard it was now possible to extract a game without even the need of a 3ds or decrypt the file first, with only a bootrom file or I don't remember what kind of file was needed.

Do you have infos and directions on that?

Not really since there is no binary and infos on how to use.

I'm pretty sure you run it with the sh command.

This is not what I want.
I don't want convert a 3ds/cci to cia (what 3dsconv does), but extract it and then rebuild it.

But he kinda uses the same method. It uses boot9 to decrypt a crypted .3ds on the pc and convert it to .cia. Just do it withouth converting to .cia

Well, it force the conversion to cia, and doesn't keep extracted files, so...
It's just a CIA converter, I can't use it for rom hacking purposes.
But I agree, if it would, it's kinda what I search.

You can't use it for that, but maybe you can ask ihaveamac for some help to do it?

But there is no way to do it from a crypted .cia or to put it back together with only the things it outputs so it is kinda useless to even bother translating

If you know decent python you can look at his code and try and convert it.

Or, since you aren't promoting piracy on your tutorial, ask the user to just copy the extracted contents to the SD from the 3ds itself

Pretty sure ctrtool supports decryption and encryption by itself now. No updated binary release, but I or someone else could upload one.

@Asia81 their right. I forgot. It even includes the bootROM keys iirc

I didn't even know Ctrtool was updated to do it, I'm more familiar with it, so it's good for me if they are updated.
I need to update Visual Studio then I will try to compil it, thanks to let me know.
