Many wouldn't mind to update and lose homebrew, but not as many would update knowing they would lose piracy.

If gateway used a similar exploit in fw7, cool.

Every firmware besides 3.0.1 (1.0.0, 2.0.0, 2.1.0, 2.2.0, 2.3.0, 3.0.0) can make use of this.

In general: just don't update.

I expect very few people have 1.0.0 any more, which is a shame because it has the most bugs.

On 1.0.0, even without any webbrowser?

I probably updated. Was using eShop recently. Oh well, looks like I still have to buy my games.

I'll wait until it gets to a point like all other Nintendo consoles where it's hackable on the newest firmware at the time, without this "don't update if you want a chance at hax!" stuff. People like that probably get stuck waiting at some ancient firmware and unable to play any new games past then.

I guess I'm playing the longer waiting game?

Wow, and I was contemplating updating for Sonic Mania. So glad I ended up buying it on the PS4 instead. I figured that if I bought it now on the Switch most likely I'd be playing it on my TV all the time so I might as well buy it on the PS4 and then later on if I really wanted it on the go I could still get it, maybe even at a discount. So glad I decided to do that!!
