No, update to B9S first and then update Luma. The latest version of Luma only works on B9S.
Just update them both at the same time, do the B9S upgrade and download the latest luma files :)

In other words, just download the stuff for B9S, namely the B9S 1.2 installer and related files, and copy them to your SD card. Run the installer as follows, and after it's installed, copy the latest version of Luma onto your SD card, and delete the arm9loaderhax.bin file, since B9S doesn't read from that but instead from boot.firm.
