Can you test HDD to see if it's working properly ?
As in on PC? Yeah, that works.

Something is happening on the ODE that prevents reading the content of the HDD. Because I can only run the game inside the drive. If no HDD is connected, I get an error in the XMB that states something like I have no HDD inserted.

Try this. The only workaround for someone was plugging HDD with Playstation fully powered off.

He did this way:

1. Turn off the PS3
2. Pull out power cable from PS3
3. Connect HDD to cobra
4. Connect the PS3 power cable
5. Wait for a green led on cobra
6. Power on PS3

So, I finally managed to fix it.

I was very desperate to make this work and finally took the PS3 apart again and re-solder all the necessary parts. During my re-soldering I've noticed that the solder work of the EMU-QSB was not clean.
That may have been the issue.
I've also noticed a problem with my HDD.
It has a power button and you have to push it before you turn the PS3 on. I have no idea why, because my PC automatically turns it on as soon you plug it in.

Either way, now everything is up and running.
But I still have one minor issue and I will address that on an other thread.

Thanks to everyone helping so far.

Hey guys. I just installed a cobra ode 5.1b on my PS3 slim 3000 series. everything seems to start well. i was able to update the firmware with a FAT32 usb. i have the ms025 series board. when i plug in my 1tb external hard drive Western Digital formatted NTFS 4KB cluster and plugin the power, i receive a red light that goes off and then comes back on red. i don't know why this is but i'm willing to take pictures of each part of the ribbon cables if someone would be kind enough to help me, as you have been on this thread. Please and thanks. Any ideas? @Pienkaito @azoreseuropa

I should add that on the 1tb hard drive, i have other folders with different files on them. a lot of space being taken up by these files. i tested it out with a 16gb ntfs flash drive with just 2 folders cobra and ps3_games and it turned green. but my disc drive isn't working. is there something i did wrong? i tried changing the direction of the sata ribbon cable from motherboard to ode. my disc drive is unoperable at the moment. please help. i'm this close to solving it but need you awesome people and your help. @Pienkaito @azoreseuropa

Those lights you're mentioning are happening from the HDD?
What's exactly happening? Does your PS3 freeze at any point?
Have you tried booting without an HDD? If so, do you get an error icon from Cobra ODE on the XMB, which says that no HDD was found?

It's important that the ribbon cables are connected correctly. Check both sides. The one that goes to the PS3 motherboard and the ODE. I made the mistake that the ribbon cable was facing the wrong side.
I'm currently using an EMU-QSB, but I think that the ODE sometimes need an external power source as well. Try that out too.
