I was playing Sonic '06 the other day and I have noticed that the audio on all FMVs are stuttering and lagging behind.
I made all ISOs myself, so I can confirm that they are all made without IRD, which seems to be the problem most of the time.

Any ideas?

Lagging on fmv should be normal. Is it very bad?
Any other games suffer from this?

It's very noticeable. I think it also happens on gameplay cutscenes. The voice lines are stuttering, because they can't seem to sync up with the cutscene. I will try other games later. Perhaps Metal Gear Solid 4, just to test it.

Does the RPM of the HDD matter?

Maybe you should check your games with IRD to see if all green is checking 100 percent then FMV uttering might be normal and lagging somewhat. If there are yellow or missing according to IRD checker then something's wrong.

I have all PS3 games with IRD green checking 100 percents.

It shouldn't matter. The one's matter is if your using USB 1 or 2.
I don't have that game so i can't test it on mine, sorry.

How about USB3?
Anyway, I've redownloaded Sonic 06 and checked the IRD. The stuttering isn't as bad as before, but it's still there.

how are you building your ISO? using what tools? if I remember correctly in the past when I build ISO using 3k3y iso tools or with ISO 'some' games loads or install game data twice as long, compared with no IRD or with normal cobra isotools

GenPS3iso_v2.3
The source files are basically untouched. So, no modifications.

Yeah, I know that the PS3 doesn't support USB3, but it shouldn't have any negative performance because of it. Right?
