Tutorial Time!
How to run YSMenu on a r4isdhc.com card with DSi-enhanced games, STABILITY EDITION!
1. Download default firmware files and YSMenu files
2. Install the default firmware (don't install YSMenu yet)
3. Change your theme and turn off sleep mode (you need to change some settings, these just happen to be the most convenient for me)
4. Run a DSi-enhanced game
5. Soft-reset, turn off system
6. Go back to your computer, and install YSMenu
7. Copy the R4.dat and rename the copy to R4.nds (do not delete the original R4.dat yet!)
8. Run YSMenu, and then run the R4.nds
9. Go to games, and pick a DSi-enhanced game
10. Soft reset, and turn off the system
11. Go back to your computer, and replace the R4.dat with the dat in the linked zip
12. Boot up your card
13. Run R4.nds
14. It should boot directly to your games, run the DSi-enhanced game
15. If the game loads (as in no white screen, no error codes, no glitched-out loading bar, etc.); then congragulations! It works!
If the game doesn't load, reformat and try again

This also bypasses the "firmware expired" message, until you run the R4.nds, you need your date set back for that...

Source: Tinkering, and finding that this method has worked multiple times for me XD

I have a r4i revolution upgrade(not 1.4x version), looking the the r4i-sdhc.com site the latest is 1.12d. I tried that but getting the wrong date or firmware expired error, would this ysmenu work?

Hi @BARNWEY , I've been trying to find a work around for the Pokemon B/W 1&2 for the last few days. I got the same card as you from r4isdhc.com. From the looks of it, the problem seems to be related to the compatibility of YSMenu to the carts from r4isdhc.com because the latest original kernels run Pokemon Black Version 2 (the one I've only tested so far) very smoothly. I wanted to switch to YSMenu cause its easier to scroll the game list but... Looks like I have to stick to the original kernel for the meantime.

I'm actually planning a tutorial on how to fix that issue (for the most part), I'll make sure to send it to you once I make it...

Some people may confuse the Blue R4i Revolution v1.45 (www.ndsiLL.net) with the Green R4i 3D (www.ndsiLL.net) ( Green R4i 3DS / Green R4i Revolution ). Your files are different.
Maybe it's the names that are changed.

Can you add the firmware package? This firmware is very rare. Look here: Download

Hello. I got an R4 SDHD Dual Core card from r4isdhc.com.cn and I followed the instructions, but nothing's really working. I read that it may have to be a dual boot, but then here's the problem with that: the latest firmware from that exact site is out of date/corrupt/cannot download fully. Can someone help me get what I need? I've tried the files from r4isdhc.com but it's not quite the right setup or format.

Try this one: www.r4isdhc.com
Format your SD card with a specific program for SD card. Try using an older Firmware or another website, such as www.r4i-gold.eu, www.r4igold.cc or www.r4i-gold.me .

I would definitely not use the files from r4isdhc.com or r4i-sdhc.com as those are meant for DSTT clones. Meanwhile, you have a Wood Card. So I would definitely try to find a version of Wood that supports your card...

I just said that the site you suggested didn't work.

I can't find anything that works as nothing I've found has _dsmenu.dat it's always _DS_MENU.DAT sooo... Yeah.

Oh, and also, I tried renaming. It didn't do shit. And everything I've looked for is for outdated 3ds versions.

i have an r4i-sdhc dual core 2015, i tried using ysmenu as my primary because it will brick soon and i also prefer ysmenu look, but i'm having problems with pokemon b/w/b2/w2 they all freeze when the professor asks my name, i saw the guides that was posted above that involves using the official kernel, but i would really like to get rid of the official kernel, and not mess with my clock when the brick comes (i play a lot of games that uses the real time clock), any way to do that?

Hi Guys!

Am new to the Flash cart scene and have recently purchased a refurbished DS Lite alongside a R4 GOLD PRO 2017 (www.r4isdhc.com without the hyphen) with a 8GB Class 10 Micro SD card. Currently using the dual boot method, i.e. the original Kernel v3.9b alongside RetroGameFan's Multi Cart Update v7.04 (R4i-SDHC Folder)

One question with regards to YSMenu v7.04 as it crashes Assassins Creed 2 Discovery ever so often (random areas), all my other games have no problem running - even Pokemon Conquest is fine (bypasses the infamous white screen of death as googled) and it is also a DSI Enhanced game. I have reformatted my MicroSD card using the Panasonic SD Tool and have set the options in accordance to instructions from RetroGameFan but the random crashes still occur for the same game.

Do I need to patch the Assassin's Creed rom or is it just an anti-piracy method that could not be patched?

Awaiting a kind soul's reply,
Thanks in advance!

Hi @DarrenChng ! I got my card on the same website though we have different versions of the card. In my case, any DSi game would simply not work with YSMenu or if it would work, it would experience random/specific freezes. I believe the default firmware for the card has more compatibility compared to YSmenu. I would suggest that you try the games that freeze or crash in the default firmware which could be downloaded on the the website of your card.

Thanks Dashshow for you reply and I tried running Assassins Creed 2 Discovery via the default firmware and it gave me the infamous white screen of death. Like I mentioned, the other DSI Enhanced games seem to work perfectly (e.g. Pokemon Conquest) - although I haven't spent too much time on them as yet. I have to disagree with your statement with regards to compatibility as I feel YSMenu is definitely superior to the default firmware, and the only game I have issues with is Assassins Creed (Probably got to thank Ubisoft for AP implementation, I reckon the game checks every few minutes or so)

Anyone else has an AP Patch specific to the Assassins Creed 2 Discovery game? I reckon that should solve the problem. :)

EDIT: Finally got it to work with the default firmware using an European version of the rom proper. It seems identical to the case of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 where the US version wouldn't work.

Hi everyone, I have a DSTT that I bought a few months ago. I was able to make it work somehow back then but didn't actually use it. Now months later I'm trying to launch it again (using the Stage 2 Launcher from Apache Thunder) I am just getting a black screen. I had not modified anything since a couple of months ago (at least I don't think I did...), and have failed every attempt to make it work, including reinstalling the launcher and using the DSTT guide in the OP and trying a couple of other launchers. It all just ends with a black screen.

I've tried searching for a solution but I guess my searching skills aren't up to the task. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or should I look for another flashcart?
