Hey
Using the luma updater and during the update its asking me "do you want to enable downloadong boot.firm on ctr-nand?"
Never remember seeing a message like this before and I did a quick search and couldn't figure out what it means or what to select; hoping someone can let me know what to do here asap because I can't exit the updater or proceed without selecting yes or no (disable only requires pressing b ehole enable requires pressing a + x so if I had to guess I'd select disable...)
On a new 3ds with boot9 if it matters
Thanks

if you are updating luma to 8.1 from 8.0, I think it copies luma to your nand so it can boot luma without a sd/microsd, you should update pressing b first and then again pressing x+a, or else it will fail

Update twice? A bit confused. Also thought I was able to boot into luma without a sd card for a long time now.
Literally stuck on this screen unsure what to do.

second time would be for copying the "updated luma"files to your nand , not necesary anyways, pressing just b will update luma just in your microsd ... I tried updating with x+a from 8.0 directly and it just failed, it's safe.

After reading what I could I just selected the update boot.firm option and it works; at least it seems like it does.

Now I'm at the luma config screen and don't remember what to select... do I need to check the box next to "autoboot emunand" or "show nand or user strung in system settings?" I do this so infrequently I forget.
Also I remember at one point you could brick your n3ds if you selected "clock + l2" under the cpu options, is this still the case?

Thanks.
Edit: bunch of typos thanks to damm autocorrect, miss my blackberry keyboard so much sometimes.

Since i brick my 3ds and it dong turn on how do i fix it?
Not really sure, I'd suggest creating a new thread with details on exactly what you did to cause a brick.
Also when you say "brick" what happens when you turn the console on?

Sorry to try to get back to my question but any advice on how to configure luma? Forget what options should and shoulnt be checked. Used to be something on 3ds.guide basically saying "do this" but o don't think it's there anymore. (Like I'm not even sure what autoboot eminand means... Didn't think Ive been using a emunand, or that it was even a option since gateway)

Just enable "Show NAND in System Settings" if you don't use emuNAND. That's what 3ds.guide tells you to enable.

Replace the boot.firm on your SD card with the latest version then replace the one on your CTRNAND after your system boots, that is, if you have b9s v1.2 installed. If you don't have b9s v1.2 installed, download Luma v7.1 then use 3ds.guide's updating b9s page to update b9s so that you can update Luma to 8.1.

How do i replace the one in my ctr nand if it dont turn on?
Read what I said to do. :/

1) Use the boot.firm from v7.1 and turn your system on.
2) Follow 3ds.guide's updating b9s page to update b9s and Luma. I'm not gonna link it to you.

If you don't do that, then no one else will be able to help you.
