Is there anyway to return to the previous version of B9S? I missed a step and I can't go back since I can't access GodMode9.

I followed the guide and this is the one linked, I seem to have misplaced boot9strap.firm and boot9strap.firm.sha and put them in the payloads instead of the boot9strap folder

EDIT: Fixed it by placing the old Luma update and proceeded with the following sections.

I'm stuck in "An old unsupported FIRM has been detected. Copy firmware.bin in / luma to boot."

How can I fix this? I've installed B9s but I don't finsh because of this error.

Nand 4.3.0-10U.

Hello, a few days ago I deleted a9lh (butnot luma) through decrypt9, I forgot the ctr-transfer part. Now I can't use my 2ds because it shows a black screen when I turn it on. I don't know if files are missing or if I just killed my console. I need more informations so that I could get a clean 2ds or at least a working one.

Did you do this? From https://3ds.guide/finalizing-setup
  1. If your device is on a version between 3.0.0 and 4.5.0 (inclusive), your device will not boot until you manually download the required firmware:
    • Download this file and rename it to firmware.bin
    • Download this file
    • Copy firmware.bin and cetk to the /luma/ folder on your SD card
    • Delete both of these files after updating your device later in these instructions

If you hadn't gotten up to this point yet then you should just follow the guide in order.

Read about B9S 1.2 and was just about to update when suddenly

So are they outright telling me not to do the exact thing the page's title telling me to?

Hey I got a question:

Should I always try to update the system manually or is it not necessary? or will updating luma and b9s suffice? I was told to always say no when Nintendo prompts an update but it should be safe for me to update manually via system settings?

Update through System Settings -> Other Settings -> System Update

Check on the forums to make sure your setup is safe to update. Usually it will be. Updating Luma and b9s is not the same as a system update, but may be necessary in the future for a safe system update (that's why you need to check the forums).

Where specifically? where can I usually find important announcements incase of stuff like this?

There will usually be a thread in both the homebrew and CFW forums. In the homebrew forums a guy with a pink avatar, possibly Kirby (can't remember his name) will make a thread called "11.5 and Homebrew" with what stuff is patched and what stuff still works, and somebody will make a thread in the CFW forum announcing the update, there will be a lot of discussion, and the main post will stay updated with what the impact is on CFW like if you need to update anything or if it is safe. It could be a good idea to wait 1-3 days before updating so there is a consensus on what is safe.

There hasn't been any reports of new bans for over a week now so you're safe for now

What do you mean by deleted a9lh?

I turned my 2ds on while pressing start then selected "remove a9lh". I can't remember the words exactly but that was the exploit used to install luma. I also deleted every file on my sd card (replacing the doesn't fix the problem).

Black screen, blue led. I hope I don't have to hardmod.

Press Select when you boot your system. If you see Luma3DS v8.0, you've successfully installed b9s v1.2 and Luma v8.0.

Hold Select on boot, if it says Luma 8.0 and you get the home menu after pressing Start, then you managed to update.

Edit: ninja'd
Thanks guys! It was updated successfully.
