Cemu 1.8.0b publicly released

Everyone's favorite Wii U emulator is back, with a brand new update: version 1.8.0b. Many improvements have been made, and you can see the changelog below. General consensus seems to say that this build fixes lots of crashing errors, although some also mention worse performance, in terms of framerate. You can check it out yourself by trying the latest version of the emulator in the source link.

New in 1.8.0b:

  • general: Fixed a bug in calculation of fullscreen window size
  • GX2: Fixed crash caused by out-of-bounds vertex attribute locations
New in 1.8.0:

  • general: Added memory scanner (search and filter for values)
  • general: If Cemu is maximized to fullscreen, it will remain on the same monitor rather than defaulting to the primary monitor
  • RPL: Optimized loading of RPLs
  • GX2: Cemu now uses separable shaders. Vertex, geometry and pixel shaders are split into separate and independent programs rather than bundling them into sets. This change breaks compatibility with pre-1.8.0 shader caches and graphic packs (if they contain shaders)
  • GX2: Added support for using the same texture multiple times with different sampler parameters during a single drawcall
  • GX2: Graphic pack texture rules will automatically scale gl_FragCoord
  • GX2: Implemented shader instructions RECIPSQRT_FF and RECIP_FF
  • GX2: GPU7 shader decompiler will output slightly more optimized GLSL code
  • GX2: Better detection for invalidation of data in Streamout cache
  • GX2: Optimized frequently used GX2 API
  • GX2: Optimized texture decoding
  • GX2: Added command line option '-nsight' to allow debugging via NVIDIA Nsight

Real hardware is always better than emulation.

Kids.
Have fun playing wii u games on emulators play 4K. Yes we know official consoles are fine. But emulators do enhance the stuff a lot better. Still i'm hoping someone make a decent clone wii u that could maybe have 4K support. Maybe something like using this emulator, but make a console with hardware good enough to run it and compress the size of the system. Is that legal?

I mean i know stuff like retron 5 exist and is a console that plays actual carts but is emulated. So If someone can ask the team of the emulator that they want to make a clone wiii u, and build a system with meeting the emulator standards, then add disc drive and FOR GOD SAKES UPGRADE INTERNAL STORAGE TO LEAST 500GB O_O

Wow, you mean the best nvidia card available currently? Well then least say which one can give decent performance without having to go to the very top of the tier list. That like for rich people. How bout the BUDGET answer?
Actually, if they wanted the BEST GPU available, it's the Nvidia Titan Xp.

thats what i have, run pretty much everything so far
havent tested on cemu though
CemU is certainly currently one of the most demanding video game console emu, if not the most (maybe Xenia and RPCSX3 also reach that level). You won't get perfect 60fps in all games in 4K unless you have a top-tier GPU. And by that I mean GTX 1070 at least.

I laughed to this one. Who wants Super Mario Galaxy in 480p (only if you find a component cable) while you can enjoy it in all its glory in 4K with HD textures? Dolphin is certainly faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better than its console counterparts.

Buy a WII U!
A Wii U is currently still as expensive as a GTX 1070 if not a GTX 1080.
