DS #1309: Madden NFL 08 (USA)

I despise American Football cause over here they are all criminals and sending the message to kids. As a youngster I looked up to a lot of these guys, collecting their cards, wanting to be just as good of an athlete...all of a sudden I learn being an American athlete means you can cut your wifes head off, run around with unregistered guns, rape chicks, torture and kill dogs, drugs...more drugs...steroids....and so I finally decided to stop supporting the sports.

Then again in Greece (and many other countries in Europe) when we watch our football...it often leads to riots and rocks getting thrown at players and refs lol

Actually if I can throw rocks at the American football players I didn't like I'd probably support the sport again

There are all types of people that play football. Both good and bad. In my mind, a fairly accurate slice of the American population is represented by pro sports. It's just when they do something terrible, it gets more attention. They by no means get away with the shit that they do, though they may see lighter penalties because they have money and can pay lawyers/bails/etc.

And soccer is a terribly boring sport. (just sayin'

)

Anyway, this game looks a lot better than last year's (crap). It even has WFC. So it should be good. I'll grab this one later.

American Football is like a chess game and a brawl. It's a great sport.

Soccer is a dozen Central Americans passing the ball back and forth for 90 (or whatever) minutes.

At least Canadians made Soccer interesting by adding sticks, playing it on skates and adding the possibility of physical injury.

So is this game any better than madden 07 (which i didnt find that bad). They play very similar to the madden games for the PSX. If its at least a little better, with WFC this is a definate must get for me

Also why does everyone have to like either american football, or soccer? I happen to enjoy both, and their respective video games.

This plays much better than 07 ive just played a half and find it pretty good...depends how fast it is online might be woeful like Pro evo was

No matter what people will think, Football is going to be the most popular sport in USA for a long time. Who cares if they don't use their foot, millions of people enjoy it. And it's not true that soccer is non-existant in USA, what do you think those illegal Mexicans play at nights ?

Well, I'm from the U.S., so I don't get your remark, but I do agree that this may be the best Madden for th DS yet. However, that's not really saying much. I still think sinkhead's right -- this is EA Shovelware -- the entire Madden series is.

And correct if I'm wrong, but rugby = American Football.

If I'm Europeen, Football has a different meaning to me than to an American since you call soccer to what we call football.

Anyway, I will try this and see if it's good. Never played a Madden game before.
