As long as you aren't bypassing encryption. You are forgetting that part. In the process of CFW, you bypass encryption, hence the illegal part. They also ruled that jailbreaking/rooting is legal. CFW isn't that different from jailbreaking/rooting.

Unless you're doing it for personal use. It's illegal to sell.As long as you aren't bypassing encryption. You are forgetting that part. In the process of CFW, you bypass encryption, hence the illegal part.
Piracy. Loses money.I just don't get this. Its truly ridiculous, why are they so against modding? Sony doesn't have a pissy fit for a hacked console. Microsoft might throw some crap. I just find this retarded. First claims, now targeting all people who enjoy homebrew.
Nintendo you are running the fans away.
Sony not throwing a pissy fit? Are you kidding me.They sued hackers and put a restraining order on them to not touch there console again. We are lucky Nintendo is only playing cat and mouse.I just don't get this. Nobody has any clue. Haven't turned mine on in a week and im fine. Just went on for glory and worked perfectly. Is there a way to avoid this? My 3DS have been turned off for kind a long time, so i find it hard to be banned
Well... a CFW is a reasonNintendo is banning CFW users randomly, for no reason
People without cfw have also been bannedWell... a CFW is a reason
You're aware people have been getting banned from Sony/MS consoles for years due to modding them, right? The difference is the scene for those consoles tends to put more effort into concealing the fact they're running a modded console.I just don't get this. The less you connect your nnid online, the better chance you have to stay ban free.If I only use free shop and ciangel and am not playing online can they find me and ban me for using those programs
What you're saying is ridiculous. Console manufacturers have absolutely no reason why they shouldn't ban modded consoles (including Nintendo).I just don't get this. Try to go online on any game/check your friends list (if you get an error, it means youre banned)How would I tell if I've been banned
There's a reason. CFW.Nintendo is banning CFW users randomly, for no reason
It's a ban only from online play. So, huh, try going online and see what happens. How would I tell if I've been banned
FreeShop/CIAngel do not send any identifying information to Nintendo's servers while downloading (Atleast outside of sleep mode downloads. I have no idea what that sends, and CIAngel doesn't have it implemented). So they can not ban you from using those programs, outside of a basic IP ban which is easily bypassed. If I only use free shop and ciangel and am not playing online can they find me and ban me for using those programs

I agree with this. You are running unauthorized software and it's their job to protect their IP by implementing bans, as a form of punishment. It's retarded to call it ridiculous, because it is not, as we (end users who exploit consoles) should know the risks involved, as it is just a matter of time things like this may occur.
I say it time and time again, if "online" is a major feature you need, then use a legit console purely for that and have a 2nd for exploits and CFW. That way it saves all the butthurt when ban waves happen.
