Yeah, seems to have worked. In fact, I haven't reapplied my theme over the last couple of updates. I've reapplied a theme and it seems to be working? Only I'm still getting crashes random between homebrew software, like when booting them up. Any of you guys experience this? And the FTP program I'm using on my 3DS keeps automatically closing the connection, then immediately crashes.

Yeah. Everything the guide says it's true. (Or at least I've never heard it being wrong except right after updates or new exploits are released.)
In theory you don't need any of the files but it's good to have the ones the guide tells you to keep.

Is it possible to use 2 separate sd cards and switch between then, ie: have one 64 GB card full of games and then another 32GB card full of different games?
I did try this earlier, I have a backup of a my original 16GB sd card full of games , Which is now combined with my 64GB sd card (now full) But when I copied the (16gb) backup over (to the empty card) I wanted to delete the games as many are duplicates (I deleted via FBI (delete title and tickets)), then when I put the 64GB sd back in the 3DS all the games were gone. Is that because I deleted the tickets too ?

Another noob here looking for help. i bought a new 2DS today because I didn't want to brick my Zelda 3DSXL and I followed the 3ds.guide - plailects guide to the letter and it worked perfectly. I didn't get any errors or anything. I don't know the terminology though. I now have Luma3ds installed, I have FBI installed. I updated the system as per the guide. I copied a cia file to the sd card and installed it with FBI, it installed perfectly and is in the home menu but it doesn't play. It was Dragon Quest Monsters Terrys Wonderland pre patched to english. This game was only released in Japan. It doesn't give me any errors just stays at the 3DS logo. I have to shut it down by holding the power button.
So I guess it is just the file and maybe the patch wasn't done properly or even if I need to patch it myself for the 2DS I don't know. So I got another file to try and it was Zelda Majoras Mask and this wont work either but this gives me the error. 'an error has occurred forcing the software to close' - not very informative but that made me think is there any other steps I am missing? I got one more file a GBA game converted to a CIA and it works perfectly.
Am I missing something. I really want to play Terrys Wonderland if nothing else. Would I be better trying to make my own CIA file from a 3DS or something like that. I don't understand the difference to be honest.
Any help would be appreciated!

i updated the system after I had luma installed so it is at the latest firmware I think. i might look at freeshop.

well just in case anyone else is having trouble getting DQM Terry's Wonderland to work I sort of figured it out. I went to the official fan translation page. It mentions people getting stuck at the logo screen too but basically the fix is to scan a QR code for the titlekey of the patch with FBI and it works perfect. Not sure how to be fair. Not sure why it wasn't working before seeing as it was patched already...i think!
Hi, i'm new at 3ds hacking world and i've got Homebrew installed in my new 3ds XL 11.2.0-35U but need help to install A9hl and another stuff in it, i found ton of youtube tutorials but most of them are outdated or sort of confusing because they all have different ways/names in their files.. Can anyone give me a updated video tutorial including updated files as well?
