sorry, doublepost

Edit: can you make a rough estimate when the most basic things like menus, adventures, lessons will be completed. the last few days you made very good progress.

The menus are nearly complete aside from the online mode, which I haven't touched yet. The adventure mode story dialog is almost done as well, but I still have a good amount of graphical text to do.

I just need to finish translating the Advanced and Expert Fusion lessons and that whole feature will be complete.

No ETA on everything currently, but I will be uploading a "numbered release" to GitHub soon.

As it pertains to the .narc files, how did you edit them. I was trying to put the official logo (just for personal use) on the title screen but i couldn't find any tools to repack the narc since there is no option in PuyoTools 2.0.3

I've been using v1.1.0 of PuyoTools to extract the narc files, I could't find the option in v2.0.3 either.

Also if you want to save yourself some time, the title screen will have the official logo in the next release. If you want, you can download it now from GitHub. Just download the entire repo, rename the "Translated Files" folder to "romfs" and place it in "SD:/luma/titles/0004000000101200/".

That's Way Past Cool! BTW, if people are looking to mod Voices and SFX during gameplay, they're in tenp.bcsar, meaning you'll use 3DS Audio Ripper to get bcwavs out. However, it outputs them w/o parsing any filenames so you'll have offsets for filenames.

(if you watched AoSTH, or played Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (the Sonic inspired Puyo Puyo/Pop on Genesis), you'll get the opening reference.)

Can't wait for the next release, sounds like it'll be a big enough update to play the whole game rather painlessly without worrying about too many untranslated things.

I plan on making a list of where the characters bcwavs are placed by extracting tenp.bcsar. That way we can get ready for the day that we can implement English VOs into the game.

tbh I still don't get why sega won't release the game in the west, they have official translations already for other systems so besides some image editing and text swapping it would require minimal effort

Maybe they dont think its worth it. But it IS kinda weird how they released a localized version for Puyo Puyo on the Switch but of course not the 3DS...

how much would it take to pay 5 people to swap out text, modify or copy paste images, and quickly test a already tested game for bugs....sega, I, just what in the world are you doing

Now? It really wouldn't take them that much time but the game is 2 years old and it most likely wasn't a consideration at the time, I mean we've had 3 games come to the West? out of 13? that isn't a great ratio, its almost surprising it came to Switch and PS4.

Puyo Puyo just has never been that popular in the west. I mean look at the series' history, the first two games released outside of japan were Sonic and Kirby spinoffs. The last two games that were released were Puyo Pop Fever in 2003 and Puyo Pop in 2001 for the GBA and N-Gage. Yes, one of the latest Puyo games released in the west was for the DAMN NGAGE!

But I think it's even more surprising that Puyo Puyo Tetris was released on the Xbox One in Japan but not in the West.

I wouldn't be interested myself if it wasn't for the tetris part tbh :/

I've been getting the new translated files from the github and using them, and I would like to tell you that there are a few typos in Adventure Mode dialogue. Make sure to proofread the text over...

Couldn't you point where the typos are to help the proofreading process, since he is doing all the work on his own?

I don't mind a few typos. As long as i know what it's supposed to mean. That's something that could be fixed in version 1.1.
These two guys are great for doing this. I'd like them to focus on the untranslated graphics, especially the ones you always see in and after battle.
