What's wrong with the game? I like the controls and the level is pretty good so far aside from some silly gimmicks. Anyone wants to convince me before I go too far into this game?

The mini-games kill this for me. They are pretty ridiculous, ugly, and initially difficult for me. The action is ok I guess. But I really dislike the mini games which seem to be required for some stat upgrades etc. My overall opinion is MEH.

For the guy who said like Smash TV. Man I wish this game was like that. That game was awesome in the arcades back in the day. They should have remade that instead of this ugly game.

Confirmed. Total **** game. Not worth your time. I'm even glad that it doesn't work on PAL. Saves a lot of DVD'sÂ

Here's my mini review.

This game is a bit of a cross between Smash TV (yes) and Diablo II, although not as good of quality as Diablo and much more intuitive than Smash TV. So it's top down, with the Wii remote cursor showing where you're shooting and you use the stick to move around. Characters are customizable a little by way of a few stats that determine how much you can carry and what weapons you're proficient at.

Do not expect some grand work of art from this game. Do expect loads of explosions and tons of aliens to shoot. It's pretty much a mindless shooter at its heart, but has a few elements of the RPG thing with stats to keep things interesting. I think the game is fun, but don't go in expecting Zelda or Metroid. Think more Arcade style lots of bang shooter kinda thing.

The mini games are a bit of a pain, especially the DNA upgrade thing. Once you get the hang of them you'll do fine, although it's hard to get exactly what you want from your stats upgrades when you do the upgrade stations. I guess I'd just say save often so you can go back and try it again if you don't like your results.

It's worth the price of a DVD to be sure, but I don't know if I would pay full price for the game. This is especially a good one to have around for a few teenage kids to just go out without having to think too much. If you're not a

pirate I would say this is a good rental or maybe used if you can find it cheap later or if it goes to the $20-$30 mark.

I just started playing it. Early impressions are the game is fun as a shooter, lots of items and upgrades to get, fun to play with a friend. On the other hand it's very easy to get lost in all the action (I couldn't even imagine how it would be with 3 or 4) especially if you're using the explosive weapons.

The melee weapon isn't that much fun. I'll probably stay away from it entirely as it's a bit boring, you take tonnes more damage and it's exausting to always be flicking your wrist around.

I love CO-OP action RPGs so I'll probably play through the whole thing with my buddy regardless of how the quality may be.

I love SEGA stuff :3

Now if they could just top this and have somoene remake Alien Storm.
Oh that was a great one. (especially the shooting and running stages :3)

I haven't played this either, but isn't it kind of idiotic to say that because the PSP version stinks (if it in fact does), then therefore the Wii version must also be bad? I almost think you must be being sarcastic. Anyone who's played games for more than a couple weeks knows you can frequently get widely varying quality on different systems, even if it's just a straight port.

Gotta agree with Caydr here.

I've played both the psp and wii version, and despite the fact that graphically they are close to the same, with the wii sharper overall, the way the wii game plays is miles above the horrific control found in the psp version.

The aiming system is actually very intuitive when using guns! Probably the best aiming system I've seen in an action RPG. The melee is a whole different story as your wrist will get tired very quickly! Good thing you can ignore melee entirely in this game!

I've been playing as a Seal class and am in the upper level 20's. I have to say I rather enjoy this game. It's not top class, but it's fun and takes me back to my Diablo II days.

Yes, melee characters suck, but the seal is really fun. Co-Op has got to be a total chaotic mess though.

There is a boss later in the game that is virtually impossible. Create several save files that you can jump back to because it is damn impossible and I don't know how my buddy and I are gonna get past him. I forget his name but he shoots rows of teeth at you from the ground. NOT fun.

FYI, in my experience the best gun lines are as follows:
1) Energy
2) Fire
3) Bullets
4) Explosives

Note I haven't seen the final gun for Energy or Bullets yet.

I hope more action RPGs use this form of control. A few levels into the game and loving it!

Melee=godly

With +attack speed and a bio-leech weapon, you can't die. Your specials one shot most enemies and wipe out crowds. Your stun stomp shakes off those annoying worms that slow you.

Diable clone ftw.

Anyways this game is fun if you are a loot mongering bum like I am.

I'm looking forward to playing this game with a group of friends though, should be more entertaining then

Not sure what boss that was, but I beat the first difficulty level with no real issues. Most bosses went down within a few seconds. The only one that didn't was the Queen Proxy, just because it took me a while to figure out how to do any lasting damage.

Pretty kick ass game. With enough recharge the laser weapons rock 'cause you never run out of ammo. They hit hard enough for the first difficulty anyway. If you still haven't seen it, the final level for laser weapons is a Dispersion Laser, basically a 5 way spread version of the initial laser weapon only much more powerful, up close it can hit once for each of the lasers, doing loads of damage.

This game needed online play ala Diablo II.
