Well, I know online works for me because I played online yesterday. However, download play brings up this error. Can someone help/translate this?

Download play options do not work outside of their respective region consoles.

I got the first dump, so I dont know whether it was cryptofixed or any of that shiske, but i used a private header, renamed to 3dz, and it's working fine on my gateway with 9.8 emunand.
Hi, Please, would you mind telling me how you managed to successfully inject the private header to make it work online? Did you use a header from a card2 game dump? I always used the header from my dumped Pilotwings to make 3dz ROMs so I can play online and it always worked (Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Fantasy Life, etc), but they are all card1 games. Do I need a header from a card2 game to inject in the Zelda Triforce Heroes ROM? When I try to inject my Pilotwings header using Gateway ROM Patcher 1.2, I see the following message: "This chip ID seems not adapted to your ROM Media Type. Can I suggest a better value?", then I click Yes, and then Inject. This message has never showed before... besides I noticed that Chip ID had also changed after I injected the header. Well, bottom line is, the game does not load, when I try to load it I see this message in the bottom screen of my n3ds: "An error has occurred. Hold down the POWER Button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again."
Just FYI, if I just copy the plain ROM with a clear header to the SD of my GW, the game loads fine... but I would really like to make online work. Before someone sugests using cia, I prefer not to, cias take up a lot of space in my internal SD card, I will use the cia only as a last resort. Thanks in advance.

My settings: sysnand 9.0, emunand 9.5, GW 3.4.1

First, I'd suggest using a newer version of the GW Rom patcher. Pretty sure it's up to 1.6 now. I used a header I dumped from my copy of Kingdom hearts: DDD, (Pretty sure KH:DDD is a Card1 type) and didn't need to change a thing to get the game working other than what I said in the post you quoted. If using the new patcher doesn't work, pm me and Ill give you my header to try.

Did you click on apply after Inject?
Sorry, I said Inject, but I meant Apply, there is no Inject button in GW ROM Patcher 1.2 anymore.

I think the latest version of GW ROM Patcher is 1.2, I got if from here http://scene.releases.free.fr/index.php?p=tools. If there is a newer version, please post the link.
Do you think I should try answering "No" when GW ROM PAtcher suggests changing the Chip ID to a "better" value? :)

Wow, I don't know what I did wrong last time, but I just repeated the process I described and this time it worked! The game loaded! I did not reach the part where the game lets me go online yet, but I suppose it will work! Well, this time I didn't rename the ROM to "Zelda - Triforce Heroes.3dz", I left it with the 4 letter code, EA3E.3dz, not sure if this can affect the loading of the ROM... Thanks anyway for your time replying to my question!

Strange find: running TLoZ:TH on GWEmunand9.0

Hi guys; here's a brand new temper with a strange find. Here are the settings:

System: N3DS EUR
Sysnand: 9.0
Emunand: GW9.0
Launcher: latest GW (3.4.1)

Tried to start the .3ds-version of the file running GW9.0; just like all the others a no go as the game freezes with black screen on Nintendo 3DS-Logo screen.

Started up another cia, quit and restarted TLoZ:TH and somehow the game started/booted up to the title-screen, but saves were corrupt somehow.

Then retried using TLoZ:MM as a rom/.3ds, quit on start-screen and restarted TLoZ:TH
=> Game ran perfectly fine just as well as the save-states.

Just wanted to let you know. If you need any help, I'll try my best.

Al

>_> To all the people who seem to think the minimum fw for Triforce Heroes is 9.6, it is actually 9.9.0-XU according to tom_tool.

If you are using the GW cart to play the rom you should be fine. GW automatically patches the code that checks for the system version and all the "cryptofix" crap ONLY applies to eshop downloads of the game.

If you are using a .cia created from a .3ds file then as long as the CFW you are running uses firmlaunch you can play the game. If you are using a .3ds/.3dz file with the GW cart it will run fine.

I will play it using rom in this case, I didn't know gateway cart dose this, it's good to know.

I am using gateway emunand and wanted to install cia but maybe that won't work properly.

There are only three potential problems someone might encounter running Triforce Heroes (or any new game in the future for that matter).

1.) You downloaded it from the eshop (or are using an eshop .cia) and are on a FW < 9.6. All eshop games afaik are currently encrypted with the new 9.6+ seed and need to be "cryptofixed" to run on a firmware below 9.6. (I THINK this only applies to N3DS users as well, but I might be wrong)

2.) You are on a firmware below the update shipped on the cart (9.9 in the case of Triforce Heroes). This is a minor annoyance as to my knowledge all CFWs and GW automatically patch the fw check, and if you are one 9.3+ you can use the new *hax 2.5 to run HBL and use HANS to patch the firmware check.

3.) The game makes use of the new AP check. (Triforce Heroes DOES use this and you can expect most or all new games to as well.) This only really affects Sky3DS users afaik because the cart in question is a 1:1 hardware clone of a retail cart and the new AP check is a hardware thing in the cart.

Hello Guys ! I have the plugin of Zelda TFH !
What's the new : you can now change item (water rod, gripshot etc...) everywhere but not online because the other player needs the same codes... And it's port with GateShark2NTR. If anyone can help for : found a code to coordinate modifier, make the plugin can go online. Thank's in avance !

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.

Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

I think that's why I focus on just enjoying single player experiences that aren't too competitive

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
