3DS 11.4 Firmware Update Available

0hnqi7q.png

Just today, Nintendo 3DS firmware 11.4.0-37 has been released. I saw no other posts on this so far, so I am posting it. Here is what I found so far has been either temporarily or permanently broken/patched.

BootNTR Selector: Working with latest version (2.7.3)

UDSploit: Patched

Soundhax: Patched (Finally Nintendo... Lmao)

Safehax: Doesn't work without UDSploit, so therefore broken.

11.4.0-37 fixes the slowdown bug for some games like OOT3D that 11.3.0-36 has introduced. Confirmed by @Feffe

Please let me know if anything else got patched. Yes, of course, if you have A9LH+Luma3DS, you can safely update.

I'm doing a nand backup as we speak so hold your horses. I really don't get people being so scared of updated when you got A9HL.
is this something i should always do, a nand backup before updating? this is my first update since ive had CFW tbh.

Ah then I understand.
Well generally speak, yes. Incase something you really really need/want doesn't work on the latest firmware. Always do a backup, so you can restore it incase something goes haywire.

always do NAND backups in general if ur using the system that is. if u have to roll back for whatever reason, u'll lose all installs since u last made a NAND backup. in ur case, u'd probably lose everything.

Perfect thank you. I don't really use HBL unless I am installing themes. I mainly just play my games using Freeshop. but always good to keep a backup as we can always go backwards no matter what nintendo releases as an update because we already wrote to SysNAND the special A9LH stuff?

AL9H is on the firm partitions, they're a seperate partition to the normal "SysNAND" (it's wrong to call it all that, but it's simpler).
Luma have blocks on the Firm partitions so Nintendo can't overwrite them, so when Luma is running, nothing can write to those partitions.

But if your firmware breaks, things doesn't work. You can just restore your latest Nand backup with a wide selection of tools, I run GodMode9 as we speak, doing the backup. It's done in 4 minutes.

now dumb but does a NAND backup in godmode backup your games as well, or just firmware stuff, and in godmode how does a person backup their current 11.3 install just in case :X I'm in there now I just don't want to overwrite or break anything ha.

A nand backup backs up everything you installed on your 3DS. If you installed them, yes they will be backed up.

In god mode which option is that. I don't see a plain old simple nand backup. I heard this app isn't as user friendly as others. But oh well it's what I got. Once I know I'll know for the future.

Press the "Home Button" and you see More... under there is Nand Backup. It will copy it to the SD Card in a folder called gm9out

Here, people you can stop freaking out about Luma and 11.4, it works fine.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Thank you ! Also should we update luma before doing this. I'm not on the nightly I'm on the stable.
Stable should work fine, but last time it caused some issues, so I just run nightly. I'm used to nightlys since the Android days. Worse case you just update to a nightly if the stable doesn't work.
