So if I'm down to ~270 MB of available space in 2.15, is there any way to free up space besides removing games? What could be bringing the total available down so low? In my games folder, the total amount is ~305 MB, pictures included. What's eating up the extra 35 MB?

There's a big time memory bug in 2.15..I and others have switched back to 2.14b..

Go a couple of pages back from this page..

It's bugged. Just add new games sync them and take them right back off and watch your memory drain.

Is it, though? From the posts by @Cluster on page 456, it sounded like 2.15 shows the accurate memory available for stable functionality. Is there not much we're missing out on by going back to 2.14b?

Reset your nes mini: ..uninstall all your hmods..uninstall hakchi..flash original kernal(dump)..flash custom kernal for 2.14b..install games..then hmods..and see the difference in space..have all my games installed hmods installed.. box art and the original 30 games : 271/300 no problem..

Hakchi 2.15 said that after my hmods, box art and original games I had 223mbs of space left for games..

I promise you it's bugged. I can clean my system up to to 344.7 available every time. Then I install 44mb of mods and it takes 49 away from me so I start with 295.8. Then I'll add a couple games in and try them and no good so I take them off and watch my 295.8 gradually lower. I tried some games and didn't keep any and next thing I notice it's now 289 instead of 295.8. Also I added a mod and after Installing it I was at 294.0. Then I uninstalled it and was at 293.9? No natter how many times I clear it up and start fresh it does same thing. You get punished for putting stuff on and taking it off :(. I also never ever save.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I tried on glupen and only got sound. But no mercy works really good just blacks out for few seconds during intros. And wrestlemania 2k works like perfect

What do you guys think @Cluster meant in posts 9111 and 9116? It sounded like he was claiming that the 2.15 MB limit was accurate. Did he mean something different?
I'm not sure he realizes how to fix it. But let's say you flash 290 on 2.14. It won't flash on 2.15 for a fact. Because the original 30 games count against your memory bar on 2.15 where before they didn't. So it now says you have 310/311 instead of he 290 and it won't flash. So right off the bat this version was gonna be stressful for memory. There is no reason if I add a game and take it off that I should ever lose memory. Therefore it's a bug.

Did you see his total mbs in games? He has only the original 30.. 20mbs..he needs to load it up in both hakchis to see what we are talking about..

Dont get me wrong..I am thankful for all his work..just something is wrong in 2.15.

Agree 100% with the bolded part ---- as for the initial bump in memory, I wonder whether Cluster's comments speak more to other memory that was not accounted for, such as the hmods

There is a lot of memory gaps. Even tho I can get 344.7 after a fresh start. If I fill it up I will get a message saying I have like 380 something available memory. But it doesn't let me use 380. Only 344. Sooo yeah. No idea why the 380 isn't available cause that's a big chunk

I'm also very happy on 2.14. Nervous about venturing over to 2.15 and not being able to flash. I've now compressed all my NES games and all my PNG images. My system is packed.

I do want the save state manager in the next version. I just don't want to lose space upgrading from one version to the next.

Here's a box art I quickly whipped up for an amazing rom hack known as Mega Man 3 Improvement. This hack fixes a ton of bugs, adds a cutscene at the start, and many graphical updates. You can download it here: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/992/
EDIT: Sorry, my monitor has color issues. Fixed the USA part.
Hi, I know this was posted a while ago, but have you experienced some graphical glitches with that hack on the NES Mini? For me, the Stage Select's bottom row keeps shaking, as well as the pause menu.

EDIT: I've read some pages and apparently that's normal with that hack on the NES Mini, but does anyone know what causes it?

Rgs!

It isn't a bug. It is that 2.15 calculates all temp data being games, save states, modules, original 30 games into the memory. This actually makes the NES a lot more stable in the long run
