Hey !! Is it only me but i'm pissed to see all the upcoming releases announced from nintendo on the wii u being ''canned'' away !?!
Let's say we're back to the ''Few months before christmas era, 2016'' , and I see the Wii U publicity online, witch makes me want to buy one for my kids.. as a future customer i've looked @ the already released games AND @ the future interesting official releases announced on Nintendo's website. Kerbal's space program is listed on Nintendo dot com as a ''coming soon'' title, with a video trailer and everything.
So i buy the console, then I'm being told the future titles i was expecting ''and influenced my purchase decision'' are now on the ''canned'' pile and won't ever come out !! As THIS customer i won't trust Nintendo enough to buy any future consoles including the Switch.
Development has already been done and financed for a while on these titles, and were promised to the Wii U owners!! Even if the titles won't become a huge profit for the company they could and should at least release them on the e-shop, bring the announced product to the customers.

Immagine if Toyota announced a new Supra with a i6 turbo with a claimed 500hp for 50k , you pre-order it and then they deliver you a Supra with a 250hp 4 cylinder power unit !! It's pretty much the same don't you think !?
BTW : I bought a Switch myself.. even if i was stunt by the price tag and wasn't confident about the future of the product itself due to past sh1tty behaviors from nintendo, The nvidia chipset didn't impress me at first but then they first said it'll be affordable, 400$ CAN isin't affordable at all compared to 100$ less Ps4 or xbox one, but still i bought one being a Nintendo fan.. but sadly i feel like i'm gonna get fu**ed again loll .. first proof was the ''Zelda : Breath of the wild'' title having very little differences between the Wii U and Switch consoles...

Kerbal space program is a third party game. You can't hold Nintendo responsible for what, where or when they'll release something (at least not without making a fool out of yourself).

...

BTW : I bought a Switch myself..
Erm...okay?

  5. Kerbal Space Program
  6. RIVE
  7. The Next Penelope
I've noticed all of these games disappear from the coming soon lineup over the past month or two. I guess it happens more than one would think.

like Taleweaver said, its a game not developed by nintendo, and it wasnt Nintendo's decision to can it. Not a good reason to boycott Nintendo IMO

Your post doesn't make any sense ''no offence dude'' !! It's even worst if it's a thrid party game, if Nintendo chooses to pull the plug on it's official ''in house'' title it's their lost!! While a third party company had to invest in development and can't release it without approval from Nintendo! Nintendo only can publish games under their brand. They didn't pay for this title development plus won't invest a little $ to release it... its a shame!!

As for my ''As THIS customer i won't trust Nintendo enough to buy any future consoles including the Switch'' statement ... it was an example @ a ''x'' customer.. not myself... read the thread :)

but thats the thing, nintendo didnt stop them from doing anything, whoever makes Kerbal can still make it for the WiiU, they decided not to not nintendo. It could be the same thing as if they were making it for the PS3 but decided to cancle it because they want to work on a ps4 version instead.

The Wii U is dead, no reason to make games for it anymore.

Really !?! So it's ok to you for Nintendo to release only 1 title after discontinuing the wii u console ''Even worst, With a short lifespan'' ??? Sony released new Ps3 titles for about 3 yrs after their Ps4 were released .. so late ps3 buyers wouldn't feel sodomized !!
I'm not looking to bash Nintendo at all here !! I still love the company, i bought a switch too !!

Sony didnt release those, other developers did, when it comes to 3rd party games, sony or nintendo dont control those, the developers choose to either release them or not.
It makes sense for nintendo not to make 1st party titles for the WiiU anymore since they want to promote the Switch, but 3rd party developers can still make and release games for the WiiU. its not nintendos choice.

And like i said Sony didnt decide whether those games could be released after being discontinued. the developers knew it had a big audience of users, so they wouldnt miss out on money

Nope dude make your research online, the devs '' Squad inc.'' wanted to release it as announced but got denied fron Nintendo ... they didnt want to spend $ to publish it.

Again .. it's not an attack @ Nintendo... I just don't get their decisions !!

Really !!?? Nintendo stopped production around last october but stopped console distribution @ stores around december ... so since january, how many titles has been released? and since the switch release date.. how many titles that were announced has been cancelled ?? Do the math & Logic..

At first I didn't understand this post at all. Yes, wanting to release a third party game on a platform means it'll have to go through certification by nintendo, and that costs them. There are cases when it's the other way round (meaning that not only do they not have to pay these costs but also get some money to make a port for the platform), but these are rare cases. Meaning: they usually are strong enough to sell systems in itself (minecraft comes to mind), and/or have clausules on them (exclusivity comes to mind). It doesn't take a genius to see how this won't be the case for Kerbal space program. It's a couple years old already so its audience already has it, and it already has some other console ports (and runs like shit on those, so I've heard).

...but then I saw your other post a bit below:
Nope dude make your research online, the devs '' Squad inc.'' wanted to release it as announced but got denied fron Nintendo ... they didnt want to spend $ to publish it.
Do us a favor in the future and post a source to your reasoning in the opening post, will you? This whole "I am right, and if you disagree with me then search online why you are wrong" isn't convincing.

But hey, since I'm interested in the topic, I googled a bit. Here's a quote from the developers:

The industry landscape changed since we made that announcement. Although we were excited to release this port, external factors are forcing us to reevaluate if it is the right move for Kerbal Space Program. It is still to soon to give you a definite decision, so we'll give you more detailed information in the future.

External forces can mean a lot of things (wiiu piracy, porting problems, the switch), and certification issues is just one of them. Of course you're free to make your own assumption of the case, but please don't tell others what to do purely based on that assumption.

As for my ''As THIS customer i won't trust Nintendo enough to buy any future consoles including the Switch'' statement ... it was an example @ a ''x'' customer.. not myself... read the thread :)
So you're basically telling others not to buy, even though you don't follow your own advice?

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
