TWLoader is a nice piece of work, there's no doubt about that.... But in all honesty, DS mode flashcards that work on the latest 3DS firmwares are so cheap nowadays that you can essentially buy one and get it posted with the spare change in your back pocket.

You can have 100% compatibility, cheat codes, real time save etc. etc. Don't buy into the 'slot1 devices drain muh battery' crap.

P.S. TWLoader isn't an emulator ;)

Correct. Twloader does not emulate/boot any ds game. It is just a CTR Mode frontend for NDS Bootstrap

It uses TWL-NAND to load games, like when you put a DS cartridge. But since DS games have never been designed to be launched from an SD card, nds-bootstrap redirects the read & write instructions to the SD card. Hence the small compatibility and long loading times.

What exactly is nds bootstrap though. Is it a hypervisor like gbarunner2 or whatever nintendont is?
Pretty much all it does is patch SLOT-1 Calls to SD in the same manner you'd see a flashcart do (but in a diffrent way carts emulate a card and data is passed from rom to that. ) its kinda like an on-the-fly DSIware Loader of sorts i guess?

Is there a write-up of how it does it? I would be interested in reading that.
