ok i dont know anything about flashing, i got an R4. i got 2 one on the first day it came out and a DSL which i bought 2 weeks ago.

why would i need to flash a DS? and wats the benefits?
FlashMe was used when slot-2 cards were the only method of playing NDS backups. You installed a program onto your DS that let you play these NDS backups without a PassMe or NoPass.
Nowadays with slot-1 cards being more popular it's not used as much any more and the only real benefit of installing it is to get rid of the health and safety screen at the beginning.
To flash your DS you need to stick something metal down a hole in it. Get it wrong before 5% and you're DS is a brick. Get it wrong after 5% and you need a slot-2 card to save your DS.

My advice is not to install it unless the health and safety screen REALLY gets on your nerves.

I have an R4 and a Supercard SD, would I flash the DS phat and act as if the R4 is just a reg passme device or is there any special technique I would need to follow? I have an R4 which I use non stop and a slot 2 that my younger sister uses with her DS Phat and she would like to play DS games on the Supercard while i am using the R4.

So you two have 2 separate DS', and she would like to use the Supercard while you have the R4, so that she does not need to use your R4 to boot it?

To do the above, flash your sisters DS with any of the ones from here: link (except noflashme, of course)

Normal removes the health and safety screen (some people find it irritating, personally I don't)
Stealth leaves the health and safety screen intact.

You can either choose either autoboot or no autoboot, depending on which you like. If you are solely using the Supercard, you should go with autoboot as it saves the hassle of holding select to boot it up.

I have a DS and bought a DS lite a few days ago. I plan to flash my DS phat while my DSL stays factory fresh till the warrenty dies. (the hinge crack issue)

Update, I cleared everything but the main moonshell and R4 files and put the flashme software on it. worked like a charm.
