Yeah, it has consequences of saving your console for hax and avoid having to update if you don't want to. :toot:
I meant more like accessing things with an out of date console I would have thought would have errors and glitches
turns out it's included already so I can use it if I have to

Not really. There really hasn't been any reports of stuff like that since 9.x. Probably before that, but I wasn't aware of it back then.

Hi, I've been asking myself if i can get back to work a old save from a non-CFW 3DS to the one i just made CFW.

I lost access to the non-CFW one but i have the save backup on my pc (just took it out from the SD), can I convert it to my new CFW 3DS to get it to work now ? and if its possible can you somewhat direct me in the right direction please ? Much appreciated

P.S : the save is from a jp OFW 3DS (lost access to the console) and i'm trying to make it work on a EUR CFW one

If you just copied the Nintendo 3DS folder, then no. If you used JKSM to export your save, then yes. The saves in Nintendo 3DS is encrypted with console specific encryption key. Without that original console the saves come from, there is no way to use the saves on any other system.

Hello, need some back up here.
i mistakenly update ver.11.3.0-36u.
however, homebrew updated finished tho, so i can still access.
but since then JKSM has some issue when i try to export save file.

it keep showing msg "Error opening save archive : C8804478"

I've been trying both cia version and homebrew version.
software title was mhg and mhx.

Don't play those games, but that means it doesn't use that for save. Some games like Fantasy Life use ExtData for save, but most games don't and some use both Save and ExtData. I'm assuming you have saves to export. It also says that when there's no save data. Make sure you're using the latest version of JKSM from https://github.com/J-D-K/JKSM. The latest version is about a month old.

Can someone give me a little help? I'm on 11.3.0-36U so my only option is homebrew. So far I got the homebrew launcher set up and working fine and have both JKSM and MHGSV accessible from the homebrew menu, but what is the actual save editor? Like once I extract the save data, what do I need to use to make changes to it? Also is anyone aware of a way to convert a MHGen save to a MHX save using only tools available on homebrew? I'm still new to this stuff so I'm not sure exactly what i need to do

Quick Question: When will there be/Is there any DS software support yet?
I'm not sure right now. I've been basically working almost everyday the last few weeks and this project isn't exactly the first thing on my list of things I want to do when I get home unfortunately.

Just out of curiosity, would updating an O3DS to 11.3 suddenly make MHGSV not work? I attempted installing homebrew and MHGSV on my sister's O3DS which she updated to 11.3. Homebrew booted fine via soundhax. MHGSV appeared to work when exporting data but as soon as I made edits with the talisman editor program on GBATemp, saved, and booted homebrew again, MHGSV couldn't import the save data and said "couldn't find system!"

Then again, when I inserted her SD card into my PC with a card reader, Windows alerted me to some problem with the files on her SD card, didn't specify what. Maybe that's why MHGSV didn't work properly?

Does this tool have an option to backup "all" saves with a single click/press?

Just looking for a good way to backup all my savegames to PC regularly, dont really want to have to keep taking the microSD card out of the console and copying the whole contents of the card over. Also wifi transfer is too slow to copy the whole card.

Dumb question, but when I try to put the folder in my 3ds folder, I keep getting an error saying I don't have permission to perform the action. I'm the administrator so I don't know why this is happening.

EDIT: Weird, even though I don't have permission, it still works.
