So the first video, a durability test, is a man taking a razor blade to his system. What do you expect to happen?
All of those "launch problems" are rare and as many people have said are not exclusive to other console launches. Hell I would say PS4 had it worse at launch, broken disc drives etc. Zelda maintains 30fps just fine almost always, Ive put over 60 hours into it so I would know.

Try harder mate.
You claimed the screen was quite strong, it's not.
I present proof, you just change the subject.

And no BOTW does not maintain 30FPS. Entirely possible as such a bad gamer you don't see the pitiful 20fps drops. What's worse it drops to 20FPS at a pathetic 900p.
The joycon, and screen being scratched by dock are certainly not rare at all.

It might be rare now but eventually your screen will get some dead pixels and Nintendo will not help you. Those people who got huge clusters of dead pixels on new switches then Nintendo says "Dead pixels are normal for LCD screens and are not considered a defect."

in a perfect world i'd love for homebrew and emulators to come out. but for once, for developers to unitedly say: "fuck pirates!" and not make any backup loaders whatsoever. But I know that's just wishful thinking. I just really want Nintendo to Succeed with the Switch. I love this system.

honestly i'm amazed that anybody who pays any attention to the hacking scene at all still thinks that piracy kills consoles. spoiler alert: so long as nintendo continues actively patching every single bug people find out of existence, the console will continue to succeed as it already has over the past 11 days. chill.

don't even get me started on the fact that emulation is almost always piracy and emulating with non-nintendo services is, by definition, just as much of a fuck you to nintendo as pirating their current games..

Sorry dad, I mean there's SO MANY posts and threads in this section already. *rolls eyes* lmao

dear god, the edge.

Bait, bait, and a video that was confirmed fake days later.

All in all, this thread is a complete wreck and I honestly recommend a thread lock at this point. A completely worthless cesspool of closed-mindedness and nonexistent fact-checking, littered with insults and paved with condescension.

Exactly. Most ppl, if they are gonna buy a game, will buy it. Piracy does not have a big impact on sales, if any at all. If someone wouldn't buy your product anyway yet they pirate it...that is a $0 loss. There was no potential profit from that consumer anyway. On top of that, take the used games market. The developers get $0 from used game sales. No difference between pirating and buying used in terms of profit for the developer/publisher/manufacturer.

Wholeheartedly agree on the emulators. The nvidia sheild tablet with basically an older version of the switch chip could run Dolphin with upscaled graphics. I want to see that on the switch. If we can hit GC/Wii and back then I'm never putting my switch down. Ever.

I know backup loaders aren't a good thing because of the people who pirate just to get it for free. But I'm a hardcore physical copy man. At least carts can go comfortably in a carry case with like 8 to 16 games but having them backed up to the console is MUCH handier. Especially for long traveling and if I get a sizable library like the 3DS I don't want to carry around all of them. And if there's a day I get another switch or 2 or 3 and want to play LAN mario kart with friends that don't own a switch, I don't want to have to buy a second copy of the game.

Plus I've gotten a lot of my friends (hardcore PC only gamers) to get 2DSs because I let them borrow one of my modded 3DSs that had my backups on them. Sometimes trailers and playing someone else's console isn't enough to convert new buyers. After a week or so hands on with a console with some good games can really change someone's opinion. Just ask my friends. I'm slowly turning them all into Nintendo fanboys, like me.

Somebody missed the point hard.
lol
-It's obvious the Switch is newer technology. I'm talking about we finally have a system that can match. or even do better in a portable atmosphere besides the psp. -

sooooo were you around when the psp was booming or nah?

Again, no shit. You realize the shield is a thing, right? Absolutely trounces the PSP.

"the {input console name} would be amazing for emulation...." is exactly what they told us when the Wii U came out. and where are we today? retroarch has only been ported and the wii U is nowhere near being the emulationstation it was hoped to be. :(

Yes, because the Xbox and the PS4 perform as advertised. Talk about being a tool. Also, no shit the Switch screen scratches. It's fucking PLASTIC. Still durable.

for portable emulation.

I mean,
nvidia gpu.
many different controller adaptions/configurations.
awesome pick up and go of the switch. adapted to emulators alike!!!! would be so cool.

nuff said. this thing will probably run n64/psx. without even trying. and it will all be super easy to port too. if the information gathered is to be correct anyway.

on one note team twiizers made an attempt to softbrick wiis that had software for piracy on them and cIOS 236 asks if youre gonna use it for piracy and guess what. answer yes and you cant do anything till you insert a disk. so there are developers out their

Retroarch wii u started very late do to a lack of intrest, and n64 and ps1 needs dynarec for playable speeds, which is very hard to code fyi.
The Wii U is powerful enough for full speed n64/ps1 but we still need some work before that happens. (I'm pretty sure the wii u can handle most consoles last gen consoles could handle)

Honestly though retro emulation is a much more widely accepted version of piracy. Even those against PC and current console piracy are usually fine with emulation piracy.
Eh. Piracy is piracy. No matter the situation.
