I prefer using the save_manager, but I have a dedicated 3ds xl that I use with it. And I only mess with Animal Crossing and not any other games.
I've used JKSM and it works fine too, but I don't like the extra steps you have to go through to use it. And I don't like that you have to find your save down in some folder on the SD card.
But, those are petty complaints.

I was wondering why we can't move the cut-out standee (town project) on our maps! The editor won't let you move it or change it to another town project.
I figure that there's probably a good reason for it, so I was wondering what that was? Can anyone enlighten me?

I also had an issue with changing the fence on the mayor's house. I changed it with the editor and it had changed to what I wanted, when I went into the game. But, the next day, the fence had changed back to what it was prior to me changing it with the editor. I had this happen with my Mayor's house and two of my other player's houses. It only seems to be with the fence. Is this a glitch? I got around it by changing the fence option in Nook's and buying it and having him replace it overnight. I wanted to mention so that Marc is aware of the problem.

Thanks again, Marc, for a great editor. I use it all the time!

I feel you continuously hit it, it does. At least for me, after hitting it a few times the entire grass revive makes it all green completely

The one time I don't try to solve a problem by button mashing, and the answer was ... button mashing. Worked fine for me now that I know what to do. Thanks!

I also had an issue with changing the fence on the mayor's house. I changed it with the editor and it had changed to what I wanted, when I went into the game. But, the next day, the fence had changed back to what it was prior to me changing it with the editor.

I had the same thing happen to me with the fence and also the pavement. I hadn't reported it yet because I wanted to test it on my other characters. I've now done so and can confirm, it reverts back to what you had previously the next day for everyone. It only seems to be the fence and pavement. I haven't had a problem with any other exterior options.

I still use svdt to dump and inject my files, it works perfectly fine for me.
Do you know of any good tutorials for using svdt to import new saves (specifcally ACNL) because I'm at a bit of a loss as for what to do... It's my first time using svdt and I don't want to corrupt my game by making a rookie mistake. If you could link me to one/explain it super quickly I'd be so grateful but it's fine if you can't. Thanks!

Use JKSM. It's much more user/noob friendly.

The git has the latest.

Hi. I'd really wish if you could make it easier to move structures by knowing the blocks the structure takes up so that it will be more adequate to move.

Do you do this until the whole map is green and you can't see the map or like 5-6 clicks. This is driving ms nuts x-x

I have a question, what if I save edit a town that was added in from TownManager: https://github.com/dragos240/TownManager Will it overwrite my "original" save data aswell? Please reply if someone know.
Backup your original save data onto your PC, then try it. If it does overwrite, you can restore your original and try working from there.
You can try merging the two if you want both(if it'll work), or installing the CIA AC:NL and having two towns on two separate game versions.

How do I save or export a map? It seems the export button has disappeared, unless I'm missing something? Als, whenever I try to import one of my older maps I get the message that it's invalid..

im using 11.0.0-25U, soundhax, and i've tried ACNL Save Manager(which didnt recognize my cart) JKSM, and SVDT. Dumping my game data works fine, but every time i try to inject, it wipes my save data. im not sure why this is happening as ive been following all the guidelines in the FAQ, and even if i dont touch the map at all, just edit my villagers, my save data still becomes wiped on injection. ive tried everything i can think of to fix it including completely wiping the sd on multiple occasions, and im starting to give up... is there something im doing wrong? none of the villagers im adding are past villagers or in my campsite, and on the one try i did try editing the map i followed all guidelines. thank you ahead of time!

EDIT: Forgot to mention my 3DS and cart are both US. Here's the garden_plus.dat if that helps any!

You seem to be having secure value trouble.
Non-CFW JKSM and svdt cannot delete it, so they copy it over from the current value to your new savegame. If your NAND has an old secure value, they will copy it thus making your new savegame invalid too That's why the game is rejecting your savegame.
Make sure your injector is updating the secure value or you will screw it up again. IIRC, svdt needed an additional file for that, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't been updated for a while, so it's not compatible with Welcome amiibo update.
JKSM, however, seems to be able to delete the secure value from NAND (can anyone confirm this?).

ill try JKSM once more and see if that works. thank you!

EDIT: JKSM seems to not be working still :( im not sure what you meant by non-cfw, but my JKSM is through homebrew. ill do some investigation into the SVDT extra files you mentioned.
