Hey! I'm having some rather frustrating issues with Nintendont.

I followed the Nintendont guide closely. I formatted both my HDD and SD card to FAT32, put in the proper directory, and set the GameCube Main Path to Nintendont.
However... Upon booting Nintendont, it asks me whether I want to use SD or USB. Since my HDD is accepted, and can play Wii games through the loader, I thought I would be able to use it.
But when I select either option, it says that there is no FAT device, or missing directory.
A friend of mine looked over my files, and said it looked fine, and even used the same iso as I did, and it worked for him.

What is my problem, and how can I fix it?

The setup should be
usb:\games
Individual folders for each game.
Name them game.iso inside each folder.

Edit: oops I meant to put usb

No, he uses an HDD like me. The SD is for the app path. And in respect to HDD path, he had it set correctly like me.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Again, he has it set up correctly like that, only difference is that his game is named game.iso and not .iso.iso.

I tried putting his ISO on my HDD with my Wii U and Nintendont and it worked.

I had a harddive that would sometimes not initialize right away until I reloaded Nintendont after saying the device couldn't be found. Using a Y-cable/external power outlet right?

Well, I did have to get an Y cable for my Wii U, it just straight away didn't read it, but his Wii U does detect his HDD.. not sure if Nintendont really need that further HDD power to be used?

The HDD is recognized without needing a special cable. And, as said before, it already works with the Wii games in the... GSX loader, whatever it's called. Also, the GameCube iso appears in the GSX loader, but can't be launched.

Yeah, that happened to me too, the first time I set up Nintendont. I had to trim the ISOs for them to work. But now, suddenly your Super Mario Sunshine ISO worked without trimming.. maybe it is the Y Cable. Maybe somehow, the Wii U still needs that extra power to read the GCN games.

Since 8192 block Gamecube memory cards now exist, could you please add a feature to use 8192 block Gamecube memory cards to Nintendon't, as well as the ability to create new 8192 block raw files?
The largest card supported by the memory card file system is 2043 (2048) blocks, or 16 MB. Nintendont is known to have issues with anything larger than 251-block virtual card images.

The "8192-block" cards you've seen are actually 4x 2043-block cards. They emulate 4 separate cards and have a button to switch between them.

Just because the HDD can play Wii games doesn't mean it will play GameCubes. Even Nintendo's own Wii U USB GameCube adapter required 2 cables as the Wii U's USB ports are underpowered. Just get a Y-Cable and you won't have any power related issues.

Also GameCube games are more time sensitive than Wii games. If the game can't load a particular file when it called for it right away the game will crash. Wii games are more forgiving.

That is not the issue. I grabbed a new ISO, clean with "game" and it worked to me, but I dunno why it works now, but didn't work the first time I set up Nintendont. I still don't know how I can make my friend fix his issue with Nintendont.
it works becuase your pc has hidden extensions so you only need to name your gaes "game" since iso is already the hidden extension as you can read on your folders.

just becuase you can play wii games doesnt mean anything get a y cable or an hdd with its own power supply, nintendont needs all the usb power it can get to do its reads.

Hello guys, please help.

First question, how to disable the rumble function in nintendot? (I use Wiimote+Nunchuk) In the settings is set "Wiimote CC Rumble - Off" But in the game rumble is present.

And the second question, in the game, I change the type of control (hold the 2 buttion and press 1) dont like this "Nunchuk Tilt left for L" and "Nunchuk Tilt right for R" How to make this type to default control, without nunchak tilt?

Today i toke a good time to spent with my Wii U and something i wanna test a long time was about Wii Remote motionplus inside.

So Nitendont works with
Wii Remote (Original or not withtout Motion Plus inside ) + Nunchuck, GameCube Controler, Wii Pro controler etc etc.
I have one that its not original and works, of course it's a piece of... but works.

But, i have here 4 different Wii Remote "Motion Plus Inside".
Of course not original.

Doesn't works with nothing plug in. It's like it's doenst see "nunchuck or anything else"

Well, like i said it's 4 different models (Has diference), so i always thought Nitendont was not compatible or works with Motion plus build controlers + Inserted controlers.
Like i tested with 4 different version ( 2em1, NEW2em1,Motionsplus, etc) i was sure it's realy was not supose to work.

But, i found my original Wii remote Motion Plus inside that comes with my Wii U and tested. Well it's works.

So why Nintendont doesn't works with not original Motion Plus inside controllers?

Knockoff accessories only adhere to Nintendo's standards just enough to work on a real console. They don't copy the official controllers closely enough to work with Nintendont in all cases. Some knockoffs work better than others, but third-party accessories are hit and miss. If you want it to "just work", then use official controllers.

i use an official wiimote without motion plus and works fine, third party/fake controllers are a hit and miss becuase they are extremely hacky in programing.

Nintendont works fine with Standard WiiMote. I have one third party with a terrible rumble. And works fine. Like i said only third party Motion plus inside or 2 em 1 doesnt work. Well luky i got one original.

Well. Lucky i got one Motion Plus inside original. But here most people doesn't. And its really. But really expensive.

I guess it's not too surprising that knockoff MotionPlus controllers don't work as well as knockoff Wiimotes, since the whole point of MotionPlus was to make the motion capture system more complex so as to capture more complicated motions accurately. As the controller gets more complicated, it becomes harder for third parties to clone it.

Can someone help me understand the 'auto' setting for video width? I loaded up Wind Waker to test Nintendont and with video width set to auto the picture was much too narrow (as in narrower than 4:3). I found a manual setting that made it look right but I'm just trying to understand what auto was supposed to do.

auto means what the game gives originaly, also some games do not work with width other than auto like fzero will jsut crash among others.

Game : Wind Waker, as well as others
Describe Issue : The games loaded through Nintendont have always functioned great for me, but I get weird "dead pixels" where pixels, seemingly in certain locations or clusters on the screen, stay one color. They also seem to flicker here and there. The most noticeable are the green pixels I get in Wind Waker (here is a photo: http://imgur.com/a/Hlrp4 ). I have also gotten a similar effect but with black pixels in Mario Kart Double Dash. The few other games I've played seem to not have this issue.

I have tried this with the ISO on two different storage devices, one SD card and one USB drive, both with the same effect.

I have an authentic copy of the Wind Waker, and it did not produce this issue.

I used the same ISO with a burnt disc launched from Gamecube Launcher, and it did not produce the same issue.

Region : USA

Wii/Wii U : Wii

Nintendont revision : Latest, as well as what was the latest a few months ago

ISO 1:1/compressed : I'm assuming compressed, since I got it offline and it's not 1.35gb. I would appreciate it if someone could give me a site that has 1:1 ISO's if it exists.

McEmu/Real Mem card and size : Authentic GC memory card

Native on/off : Not sure on this

Composite/Component/HDMI: Problem has persisted on both composite and component cables

like you said you dont have a 1:1 iso, get a 1:1 iso with and md5 matching redump and try again, im preety sure your iso is bad, also latest nintendont is 4.436, never say latest say the actual number. if the game works fine through the actual disc on nintendont then its for sure your isos that are crap.

I tried a different ISO to no success. This seems to be a Nintendont specific problem. I have a dvd-r with Wind Waker burned onto it. I launch it through Nintendont, the pixels are there. I launch it through Gamecube Launcher, they're not.

I was hoping to use Nintendont instead because I won't have to burn disks, and the sound of the Wii playing a burnt disk is a bit disconcerting.

However, Nintendont seems to be a big part of the problem because it only happens when I launch from Nintendont, storage device or disk.

If anybody has any ideas, Id really appreciate it. I don't know what would be causing me this weird problem and no one else. If you've got some free time, I'd appreciate somebody maybe trying wind waker from Nintendont, and then looking closely at your screen (making sure the background is dark) one the game has started to see if you have it too. I have no idea what it could be anymore considering the ISO works from a different app.

you realized thousands of people played windwaker on nintendont since it was the first compatible game lol, noone have your issues at all, you said you have the disc right? just put windwaker disc in and then choose boot disc on nintendont menu, also take a picture of your nintendont settings btw.

like i said its either a corrupt nintendont boot.dol or your wiu has some damaged component that nintendont uses and the actual mios doesnt use.
Sorry for the big ass quotes-post but this is DEFINITELY an issue.
I've experienced the SAME EXACT thing with not one, but 2 Wiis and my current Wii U.
The "specs" are more noticeable on the standard Wii though (I presume because of the resolution).
It's highly unlikely that all of my consoles have malfunctioning hardware.

What do you mean by "what the game gives originally"? Wind Waker didn't look that narrow originally, it was 4:3 and circular things were circular. Do you mean that auto assumes square pixels? I'm aware that not all resolutions used by the GC were meant to have square pixels (like the NES, SNES, VGA mode 13h etc.) so I'm guessing it's that.
