I now understand what you said, if it doesn't turn off after pressing the power button for 20 seconds then the MCU chip has some problem. Try removing the battery and powering it on again.
I hate to say this but if u can't find one lying around the house they are abt 2 to 3 dollars at home depot or the dollar store if u have one of those its a size 0 screwdriver. Hope that helps. Yes I made sure I bought one of those as soon as I picked up a new 3ds xl. I was a Lil ticked that ninty would do that but hey whatever it is cumbersome tho.

Also,another question: Is this simply random to happen? I mean,does it simply happen? Or was it my fault somehow that it happened? Actually,could it be that as well. I tried to charge it and the charging led didn't come up. But maybe it's nothing realated to battery. I really doubt it,since it simply stopped working when i was playing
The MCU chip also controls the LEDs, so that doesn't mean anything. If it was a dead battery, conecting the charger without the battery would light the charging led for a moment afaik. If you can't remove the battery you'll have to wait until it drains completly and the console turns off. Using a knife to remove the screws is a solution aswell.
It can take a while to do so, that's why I said to use a knife as an screwdriver, it works for me
