As I expected, the Japanese voice files are not on the western Wii U release disc. Anyone know if there's a Japanese leaked version yet that someone can get those files from? I hope this gets undubbed quickly so I don't have to wait too long to play it!
So it really is impossible to have Japanese on the U.S. disc. That really sucks :(

Oh well. I guess I'll tolerate the English dub then.

Not undub related, but I made an interesting discovery in the US version:

French voice clips (that are the same from the EUR release) are divided in 2 different folders. Seriously. Most of the dub is in the EUfr folder, and the remaining clips are in the USfr folder. What the fuck did Nintendo smoke to make something like that?

That's why simply renaming the USfr folder crashed the game in cutscene. I wonder if combining USfr with EUfr will work.

You're sure that it's not just because french from quebec is dubbed differently than French in france ?

Anyone know if Japanese copies of Wii U games usually leak quickly to someplace us westerners can find them? Or are we looking at having to wait until someone imports it?

One note:
We can't be entirely sure if Japanese is native language for this title or was it directed English first.

This may sound stupid until you realize Japanese do this a lot; Silent Hill, 2, 3 and 4 are all fully Japanese made, but made in English voice only. Resident Evil was the same way - at least first game. Square releases a "international" version of most of their games in Japan, considered the definitive version, which always have the English voice acting as well - making it at least appear that square considers English to be definitive for their games. Platinum games is also another example where Shinji's few games were English only like God Hand, and the list could really go on, Suda51, Swery - yeah.

Also in history of Zelda, the one time Huryle Warriors outside Zelda series dabbled in Voice acting aside grunts etc. was Midna in Twilight Princess. While her voice actress is Japanese, Midna's babble talk is actually scrambled English. They made conscious decision to do it from English instead of Japanese or whatever.

TL;DR: It is possible English is the "native" language at least in minds of the developers.

I don't think that's the case for this game. There was a point when I was in a cutscene with a character where his body movement didn't match the word he was on (not talking about lips, I'm talking about the entire body). I don't speak Japanese, but I'm pretty sure it would match it.

Person you mentioned may be considered a spoiler for some
