Hacking best battery for the new black case EZ Flash?

I just got one of them and discovered that the previous owner had jammed (tabs unsoldered) a CR2032 into the cart. It bulges so much that you can hardly get it into the GBA slot.

I've got white EZ Flashes from 6 years ago with still-good batteries in them. What is the super-long lasting battery in the white EZ-Flash? I want one for my black EZ Flash IV.

No idea if it fits (it doesn't yet in my homemade case for a 3in1) but why not a 2025? It's literally a 2032 but 3/4 of the thickness (and somewhat reduced capacity, of course)!

The older models have rechargeable batteries in them.

Anyway the new model uses a CR2025. To that end a 2025 model should fit, it does not have any charge capability by default (and the old ones were trickle charge anyway). You might be able to rejig some diodes and resistors to help with that but that is more than soldering a new battery in.

In case some forum searcher finds this the original EZ4 models used a Panasonic VL2020. Later models supposedly dropped the chargeable aspect but were still 2020 sized.

Actually, CR2025 does not fit very well either. The tabs are as flat as I can get them, but there is still a bulge in the case. I think a 2mm thick battery would fit snugly enough that I still might not need to solder it. Can always add a few layers of tape if it seems too loose.
