Okay because the x's confused me and I thought I had to add them in when using HxD's search feature. I want to hex edit in Benny and Orochi into my Revelation's save file because I killed them or they got themselves killed (Before I could even recruit them.) in my current save file. Also when I use search/find is the datatype supposed to be Hex-values?
Yes, unless you are specifically looking for text.

It might be easier to use this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/feftwiddler-fire-emblem-fates-save-editor.422439/
Also, look for 03 00 0B 00. The class and character IDs take up two bytes each. If either is only one byte, add 00. If it is two, flip the bytes.

Am I supposed to be using Ctrl+F (Find) or Ctrl+G (Goto...)?

(It's apparently Ctrl+F I'm supposed to be using so it looks like I was right the first time.)

Here's a screenshot.

Update. The changes didn't take affect and I got a BAT.COM file when I dragged the ChapterX_Dec onto FEST.

Update. It worked. I changed Camilla into a Wyvern Lord from a Malig Knight.

I'm trying to hex edit an Orochi I recruited from someone else but instead of it changing to the Diviner class when I edit 00 0E 00 34 to 00 0E 00 32 it only changes to the Diviner class when I edit 2B 0E 00 34 to 2B 0E 00 32. I'm confused because 2B is Hoshidan Unit in the Character and Class List Fates.pdf. I found 2B 0E 00 34 by opening my save in FEFTwiddler by opening the hex editor and searching for something similar to 00 0E 00 34.

See, i looked at you're example in the first post, but im curious... Did you ever find a way to give a character a unique class skin? Like Corrin with Ryoma or Sumeragi's swordmaster gear?

You can't do that without romhacking, as unique class models are tied to a character's AID in the rom.

And you don't know how to do anything with that, do you? Cause I'm getting no luck with finding someone who can do it.

I do know a bit about AIDs (since I did do a large custom character dlc project), but I haven't dabbled in building an AID for a unique class model yet. @TildeHat is the guy to go to for AID info. Editing any .bin file (like the AID files in the ROM) is a royal pain even if you know what you are doing since everything is pointer based. Add one extra byte and you break the entire file. Hence why I do all my edits with dlc, since I can just make new files in the dlc cia instead of repointing stuff to make room.

What hex converter or calculator do you use and is the offset the numbers below or to the right/side?

Just use Google to find a decimal to hex converter. The offsets are the numbers on the right and top, format is XXXXXXXXXXXY where the X's are the numbers on the right and Y is the number on the top.

Okay, and do you know how to edit BP and VP to 9999?

Is it possible to modify the Personal Skill of a character with this (for example, to give a personal skill to an Einherjar or Amiibo)?

I was wondering if there was any block that determined what a character class looked like. I doubt it's that simple but I was curious if it was possible. More specifically I just wanted to switch Sakura's Priestess look with the default one so it matches her hair. And take her blue one for Azura.

Edit: Never mind Someone said something about battle model swapping which is probably what im looking for. But there doesnt seem to be a guide on how to do it. le sigh

Hi, I wanted to know if it was possible to make a generic witch unit? I have one that I got from a custom dlc (DeathChaos25's dlc)
My problem is that the model for the witch isn't the pink haired one from the dlc, but rather a generic female model with short grey hair (I believe it's the same model used for generic maids). Is it possible to change the model to the correct generic witch one seen in the dlc? If so, how would I go about doing that? I'm not sure which generic unit code is the witch one. Thanks in advance!

There is no generic witch in the main game's data. Just wait a bit, as deathchaos is trying to give the witch the right hair (it might even be fixed already, not sure).
