This is why you should not use it. i tried installing games which didtn work via this thing.
I use this all time and works fine. Only two games don't install and have error. But hen I use VitaShell and install fine.
FOr me is the best app for installing vpk on vita :-D

I got java exception for quite a few games with Vita Organizer. Switched to C#-based FTP PSVita VPK Installer (https://github.com/Llop1s/FTP-PSVita-VPK-Installer) a few days ago. Haven't seen one single error yet after installing 15~20 games, a third of which are games larger than 3GB. Although, it takes a little bit longer for FTP PSVita VPK Installer to open large VPK files. It starts decompressing VPK right after you click open file. I suppose Vita Organizer still has the advantage of cross-platform support and being able to convert unsafe VPKs.

Can i used this offline? I not have wifi so i can't ftp
If you don't have access to a network access point, then you will have to go the cable method with VPKs and install via VitaShell. (Using QCMA+Savedata transferral method)

Alternatively, if you have an Android device, you can turn it into a portable hotspot to act as a network access point for FTP.

Does this also install directly so it doesn't take up double space?

Yes. Its sole function is to install VPK without using double space. It's not a game/homebrew manager like vita organizer. So you can only pick one VPK each time.
Awesome thanks a lot! I will use if I get an error for any game!

Stupid question, but how do you know the vpk is being transferred over?

When I click to send the vpk to the Vita, there's no real indication that it's actually doing anything. I know it should take a while to install, but I'm in the dark on whether or not the vpk is actually being installed.

Know this is super late but at the bottom where it said it may take a while it should say "Uploading VPK for Promoting" and it's current status. there's no exact percentage but, at least it lets you do the math. :D

this is a very convenient program especially for ID's .

but i would like to know what the permissions mean , the 'safe' and 'unsafe' ?

i use some converter (vpktool) that converts the game for ftp and in it i can tick the option that says 'mark as safe' what is this all about, thanks.

Sorry to bump the thread so late. I'm currently stuck at "Uploading VPK for promoting" and it says 576 KB/33.1 MB (1.9 MB/s)" and it's been this way for...about 10 minutes now. The file I'm trying to transfer/test is about 2 GB. is it just taking awhile?

It is that slow, this is because it's using FTP to transfer files and the wifi chipset on the Vita isn't exactly the best (not taking your router/PC speed into account).

Not to mention VitaOrganizer is now outdated. VitaShell offers native USB support now which is much, much faster than wifi, so if you have a USB cable for the Vita I suggest you just setup VitaShell and use that to transfer extracted VPKs that can be installed without VitaShell.
