Edit- a far newer version of this tool can be found on filetrip http://filetrip.net/f23649-CrystalTile2-2010-09-06.html

http://bbs.emu-zone.org/newbbs/archiver/?tid-464656.html

I came across this earlier today and simply put it is the one of the best rom hacking tools I have ever seen. My only problem is that it is in Chinese and my knowledge of techincal terms in Chinese is less than brilliant.

The source however has been released so if someone would like to help me translate I would be thrilled.

A rundown of some of the features:
tile viewer.
hex viewer: includes ability to view in all kinds of formats including shiftJIS, unicode and several of the big Chinese formats. Naturally for a tool of this calibre tbl files are supported.
disassembler: not tried the 64 version yet myself but ARM7 (thumb too) and ARM9 are present and pretty good (you can change address so as to influence relative commands)
DS wise it opens files in the filesystem as well as being able to parse and play SDAT and several other common formats.
Decompression (I have seen lz77 so far although I have not poked around it yet),
If you want to try it out ctrl and O is open a file, the icons on the left are self explanatory and there is enough English in pulldown and right click to get somewhere.

I will put some screens, a mirror and more discussion up later but for now.
Tool:

source (vs2k3.net/mfc): http://www.angeleden.net/Crystal/CrystalTile2(src).zip (pass as above)

You can probably just use a translator to help you out unless the chinese letters are coded in hex or something. An emulator I translated a long time ago had their words stored in the string data so I can just use a translator to tell me what word it is and then I just revise it to make it sound better

It is not plain C++ but MS's tweak on it (VS2k3.net : visual studio 2003 .net, MFC: MS foundation classes) and AFXWIN.h is one of the things MS feels needs to be there:
http://www.cppdoc.com/example/mfc/classdoc/MFC/AFXWIN.H.html

As for the translation, babelfish is not going to be of much use here although I am willing to help with this one, I have most of the UI understood now and will make a picture translation soon.

I don't quite understand what the above poster said, but maybe someone should ask them for the missing file. My C++ isn't up to date I think since I've had it since a long time ago (2004 I think?). I'm not too experienced with programing though but if I get everything I needed, I can probably take a crack at it.

EDIT: Well, I kinda found where some of the chinese text is but my computer doesn't have Chinese text support

. It just shows a bunch of garbled text so that means I can't translate it >.< . Btw, the text are in the Dialogue section inside the CrystalTile2.rc file.

Microsoft sees fit to make development kits and tie it to their OS (under the guise of lessening the effects of "DLL hell"), the one in question is Visual Studio 2003 (although I will try and get what c? I have to get it to build under 2005 if I can).
Downloads (express should work although debugging can be a pain):

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction as well ChaosBoi.

For anyone who does not want to grab the source here is the file (I would have posted it but got a too long error).

Sure, no problem
biggrin.gif
. I checked and my computer has chinese support but the letters are just garbled gibberish X_X . I asked someone and they said something about Unicode. Anyone mind telling me how to change it for C++? That way I can get started on some stuff.

EDIT: Woot!! I finally got the chinese letters to display properly
biggrin.gif
. I'll translate some stuff using an online translator and revising it. I'll have to send it to someone for them to recompile it though because it won't let me do it for some reason (At least not the .rc file anyway).

EDIT 2: Awww crap. If I try to copy and paste the chinese letters within the program, it changes to garbled letters. Looks like I'll need to look for someone who knows chinese

This program is actually hard to translate for me because I don't know Chinese and translator sometime are not very good. I'll do my best on it and release the source.
