Just wanted to say that booting into Decrypt9 from Luma using a decrypt 9 payload in the luma/payloads folder and holding start worked a treat.
From there I was able to reflash the sysnand with a nand minimal backup I made while installing CFW.
Thanks for the help.

why are you using an old guide on purpose then?

Solution: did you inject FBI into your H&S app? remember doing that in WIPdecrypt9 ?

Pretty sure 3ds.guide was out since before Nov.

Wait, sysnand?
what was your set up before everything? Sysnand+emunand?
in anycase, can you load into WIPDecrpt9 using the Luma payload commands? (Holding start/select while turning on 3ds)

I think that depends on your payload buttons (check in your luma setting)
You can also use hourglass9.

Are there backups of the old 3DS guides anywhere.

I had followed an older tutorial....and then I got confused I couldn't find elements I had originally referenced.
Such as had I used Decryp9 or other.

Also. Do the newer 3DS XL (Galaxy) have better build quality then Red/Blue?
Hinges?

Several questions. They are a bit ambitious for someone at my level (basically level 0), but I am very stubborn and like problems fixed. I have a 3ds on me that has no access to common exploits like a browser, qr code reader, and there is no otherapp file for it. It is frankenfirmware and nothing works.

First of all, is otherapp open source?? Could I alter an existing version to work for my frankenfirmware? I have no coding experience. Where would I start?

Next, would it be possible to write a working script that forces the 3ds into downgrading, but that the 3ds reads as a game? Basically, the only thing that works on this 3ds is opening games. Would it be possible to trick an old 3ds into thinking a script is a game, without using common exploits?? Do they sell blank cartriges you could code something like that into? How would you go about this, and what programming language would you use?
TBH, why bother with all that work?
3ds.guide works on latest firmware to my knowledge since 11.2 is still latest.
and frankenfirmware can be fixed via system update.

Can someone please point me to a guide for backing up my eshop purchases to CIA files. I'm running an N3DS with A9LH and Luma.

Thanks!

A while ago I upgraded my setup to running Luma 3DS with emunand, but I declined to install a9lh at the time. Now that I want to, it seems the guide has changed to include things I haven't heard of- what's the easiest way to install a9lh to autoboot luma?
I'm only interested because it seems it's required for running gba cias? I tried some emulator cias but they run under 30fps for me (on old 3ds).

I think you can play gba cias with emunand, but you need to install them on both emunand and sysnand, that's one of the reasons it's recommended to use a9lh and use only sysnand (this way you only install them once, on sysnand)

In the guide. select your 3ds' model and the fw of your sysnand.
Almost at the end of the guide, you'll be able to restore the content of your emunand into your sysnand so you'll not lose nothing

Well, it's my first post in gbatemp, but I've read from you a long time ago.
My problem is reduced to the error: "There was an error in forcing the software to close, the system will restart (unsaved data can be lost)".

I have tried to format the microsd, format the console and update a9lh, but the error persists ...

I have the error dump that occurred playing Dragon Quest VIII official of the Eshop of Nintendo and the photo of the following error in the console:

I've attached the dump in case anyone knows what to do with it.
Regards.
