recovery mode? you mean BootMii?

Is it isntaleld as an IOS or as BootMii2?

Do you have a nand back up?

If no, then you can reinstall system menu, or launch homebrew channel and then delete the corrupted banner/channel you installed.

In theory you should be able to insert a game disc with the latest SM update on it and it will install, but I've never seen anyone reply that it actually works.

By recovery mode I mean SaveMiiFrii,
How do I launch the Homebrew channel from my bricked wii?

I have a lot of Wii games so if you can tell me which ones update or not that will be great, I reply often

I'm not 100% sure but I think you need a modchip for recovery mode to be useful, as you'd have to patch an ISO of one of the exploitable games so that it autoboots, and from there boot into AnyTitle Deleter and delete the offending title.
Updating the system from a game disc won't fix a banner brick.

Anyway to fix without a modchip?

Edit: my bootmii is installed as boot2, but does not launch on start, any ideas?

Depends on your drive model. Older drives have cheaper chips. Solderless modchips cost more, and don't work at all on newer drives. I'm unsure about availability of modchips these days, since no one uses them anymore.
So I saw a drivekey modchip for 35$, my system is on 4.3u and is pre-q4 2008, so will it work?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
