No, it's because Nintendo video games are extremely unpopular in your area

Then you're extremely lucky, and should buy their remaining stock and double your money.

tho, im not that rich .3. i could probably only get 7 (about $100 profit each - $700) so eh. also all the 3ds (minus resold) are pretty much s&d here they go quite fast. but one of the ones they advertise is hyrule gold.
also i found a cubic ninja there for like $15 .3.

So checked my Solgaleo and Lunala Limited Edition and i think got a good one because many report both tn or Top TN Bottom IPS.
Mine is a Top IPS and Bottom TN (looked up in 3DSIdent) that's nearly perfect (perfect is both IPS) as i think because Top Screen is the most used Screen :)

I paid a premium $300 for my Fire Emblem from Amazon and that took two tries from seller to get a dual IPS, so $600 in both directions with fingers across second time would be a charm after I went through 15 new 3ds locally and none of them had any IPS panels.

But it was soooo worth the effort and extra cost, IPS looks just freaking amazing compared to the TN panels and the 3d works better as well.

Whether the 3DS has an IPS display or not shouldn't be a vital issue, since most players won't be gaming with the 3DS at an extreme angle. It does affect the quality of the image, but not to a game-breaking extent. If the image quality does matter that much, Nintendo's fine with you returning your unit and replacing it with a new one as many times as you want so long as it's within your warranty period (some people have done this already) and fingers crossed, you'll get an IPS model instead.
I appreciate the details explanation of this TN/IPS situation everyone been talking about, but i appreciate the conclusion more. I agree with the idea it shouldn't matter. Usually unless you have a special need for it under some conditions like your eyes can only benefit better for playing games on it, i still didn't know what the deal was. I have 2 N3DSLX with a top IPS and bottom TN screen (According to that 3dsindent thing you mentioned.) But i hardly every told the difference nor cared enough to notice. I would prefer longer battery over something looking good especially since the 3DS display already doesn't have good resolution compared to other mobile devices especially the PSVITA a DIRECT COMPETITOR (I guess.)

But this had help me to understand why everyone was making a big deal out of it. As far as why they have been doing this with some systems, maybe they ran out of resources and decided to use other means to supply the increase in demand for the system, if people do realize how valuable the IPS over TN screens are, it could have been a increase in price for purchase not only to Scalpers (Which i already don't agree with) But nintendo themself, which i am glad they did not directly participate in. They saw demand and wanted to supply consoles so they did what they could and kept it hush-hush. :)

It was only when people started to notice these things that someone seem to draw attntion to making a big deal out of it. Maybe is curious why the screen switch happens, but the system still works as intended, some may look better to others but it won't cause you to be unable to play and enjoy the game, only people who know such things like this will be bothered by it (Of course i don't mean to offend any OCD people) I understand as well just like why I always play retro games in full screen mode, cause I focus too much on the black empty borders of the screen that i'm used to being filled but isn't. Is one reason why I prefer to use emulators since it fixes that issue while things like Virtual console, and Playstation Backward compatible games do not.

Still i appreciate the information about this to help me understand the reason for the discussions all about these screens i still think is a minor problem to conern with, while interesting to know why the switch is done.

I have OCD and yes, stuff like this matters greatly to me and other people like me wereas other people, couldn't give a flying fuck either way or non at all. And that's just fine, take your products as they are out of box and be happily ignorant, you have the freedom to do that.

But just don't dismiss or discard our viewpoints, desires and expectations for us wanting to get the best out of products that we expect to get our hard earned moneys worth from nowadays with our economic status in the USA.

Needless to say, if I do decide to get SWITCH and Nintendo pulls this bullshit TN/IPS panel swap at some point, you can be Damn sure plenty of people like me will go the extra mile to find IPS panels to meet our demands for high visual gaming quality vs cheaper shit panels.

I'll take reduced battery life *which is very small* which I can very easily negated with small portable battery packs with improved viewing angles, better 3D and deeper colors and darker backs vs a shittier looking screen with poor 3D usage, shit viewing angles and crap black levels that I am stuck with vs a few extra minutes of battery life. Not even a remotely worth trade off in my personal book.

I recently bought New 3DS XL, one of those with new color in Europe (black/orange). Unfortunately it has dual TN displays. So I tried to find another with at least top IPS within my 14-day return period. I bought other 4 pieces from different eshops but had no luck. It was 4x dual TN and 1x top TN/bottom IPS.. It seems most of these black/orange 3DS are top TN, I've read only very few comments that someone got it with top IPS display.

Does anybody know if my system has dual IPS screens or not? Also, what is up with this weird "tint" on the top screen?

The bottom might be IPS. The top is TN, and the weird tint is why people prefer IPS.
If it's a New 3DS, run sreeninfo.3dsx to find out for certain.

That doesn't sound right... I bought this as a dual IPS screen system but the fact that the top screen has an odd tint as well as the fact that I'm not quite sure about the bottom screen makes me wonder if I got scammed out of a lot of money.

Also, I can't run homebrew on it at the moment because I didn't have the foresight to check before transfering my content.
