I took a long break from work on Nova Sun and Umbra Moon because of The Binding of Isaac: Antibirth and Afterbirth+, but I'm back to work on it. I'm shooting for an early February launch. I promise it'll be worth the wait!
Legit/Leveled Build Wild Encounters: 77%
Expanded Build Wild Encounters (Will probably take like 1/3rd the time as Legit/Leveled): 0%
Trainers+Totems: 50%
Pokémarts and Item changes: 100%
Wild Hold Items: 100%
Moveset Availability changes: 100%
Game Text: 90%
Evolution changes: 100%
Installation batch file (much easier than doing everything manually to create CIA, 3DS, HANS, or other packs): 100%

My testers are about halfway through the game, and as I make new content I am sending it their way for feedback.
By my estimate, I'm 58% done with the hack. Since most of what remains now is Trainer edits and the Expanded Build's wild encounters, the remaining half should proceed faster than the first half.

I don't want to release any form of incomplete build of my hacks. It's just not the sort of person I am. I want to release the product in as polished and bug-free a state as I can.

Thanks for the update! I'm really looking forward to the release; while I never played Rutile Ruby/Star Sapphire I am holding back on playing vanilla Sun/Moon as I want difficulty done right, which is what you seem to do better than anyone else. Best of luck with the rest of the project!

Thank you for the update! I had to settle for another hack, but am eagerly looking forward to yours! (Can you fix the problem of not a lot of end game people to train on? Edit Battle Buffet? for 70-90s) THANK YOU

Thanks for the update! Long time SS RR fan here. Keep in mind that i like your hacks so much that i've managed to not play Sun and Moon or any other hack yet just so that my first experience with the game is with your hacks lol
Star Saphire is among the best games i've ever played and the most fun i had in my entire 20-years gaming carreer.

My 2 cents, if i may of course, is that don't change the core of the previous hacks at all. Keep that insane difficulty (lvl 100 in the Poke league with lots of legendaries, turn up the price even more on revives... that kind of things that made your the best hack in the community), no mather how much grinding and breeding and training we need to do.

Plus, excelent idea of releasing the game only when its 100%.

There is a new odd ban wave for people in sun/moon for people with pokjemon save changes. Not sure of the specifics but hopefully when Umbra Moon Nova Sun comes out with the online patch like SS and RR this won't give problems.

If you don't use Game Sync with a romhack, you shouldn't have problems. Plus, the current ban wave is for people with obviously-altered trainer values, not those with "hacked pokemon". Since NS/UM don't give you any unattainable Trainer values (change your TID, name, 999 master balls...) you should be fine. Still safer to just not use the Game Sync feature when playing a ROM hack, since nobody really knows if Nintendo can see you using a modified file.

Another update. I'm in the home stretch when it comes to the Umbra Moon and Nova Sun project. I consider the project to be 85% complete at this point.

My progress in the different parts of the hack is as follows:

  • Trainer/Totem Changes: 88% designed, 70% implemented, 60% beta tested
  • Legit / Leveled Build Wild Encounters: 100% complete
  • Expanded Build Wild Encounters: 100% designed and awaiting implementation
  • Evolution Changes: 100% complete
  • Poké Mart and Item changes: 100% complete
  • Game/Story Text Changes: 90% complete
  • Pokémon changes (adjusted move levels, wild hold items, etc.): 100% complete
I estimate I'll only need 38 more hours of work to finish the project. As such, my target release date is February 26, 2017, exactly one year after Sun and Moon were announced.

If my estimates are correct, this project will have taken up over 320 hours of work, and I am incredibly excited to finally share the fruits of my labor with you. Relative to Rutile Ruby and Star Sapphire, this release will be a lot more polished. Where RR/SS took some "shortcuts" like Pokémon without defined movesets (I.E. what Game Freak does with 99% of its Trainers), Nova Sun and Umbra Moon have every single Trainer Pokémon manually tuned with a full moveset, EVs, and hold item.

The Battle Buffet will feature exclusively Level 100 Memento Blisseys in Nova Sun and Umbra Moon.

Please, could you answer me this? Are all starters and legendaries in game?In other words, can I catch Squirtle, Charmander, Turtwig in game?Im talking about your Sun/Moon hacks
