Not many updates recently. I'm guessing after the PSX emulator got up and running no one wants to keep working on it. It's a shame, the N64 emu for the PSP isn't THAT bad, runs Mario 64 well and a few others are playable, with the extra power in the vita you'd think it could push Mario Kart and Super Smash bros into the very playable territory. Still - I've enjoyed this stuff and will keep playing some of the old SNES / Mega drive games so I'm extremely grateful for the work people have put into this.

For a Vita Compatible N64 Emu, it apparently has to be Built from scratch last I heard. Same on the N3DS. So dont know if there will be one or if they are working on it. I know there is a possible Mupen N64 Emu in the Works.

I'm hoping someone can help me get the PC Engine Retroarch working.

I've been using Henkaku with no problems. I downloaded the newest nightly .vpk (2016-12-14) for the fast pc engine mednafen from Libretro and installed it, never had any retroarch installed before.

It creates a bubble and I launch it, all seems well. I put the SYSCARD3.PCE in the ux0:/data/retroarch/system folder. And transfered roms.

Nothing happens when I browse content to the rom. I tried HuCards and CDs. It just says that no core is there. And it does nothing when I try to update/download the core.

In the bottom left of the XMB it says PC Engine Fast Mednafen, etc. Its a standalone bubble for PCE so I would think it must be loaded with the core...but everything I try seems to point to that there is no core loaded?

Another curious thing, is when I browse for content most of my directories aren't there. For example, there is no PSPEMU directory...this is where I usually put my roms. So I moved a couple roms to ux0/data/retroarch/ because that one does show up in the directory structure. Only about 5 directories are there, including vitashell, patch, data....but most aren't.

I'm using a PSTV with a 64gb memory card.

Thanks for any help, very confused here.

the pce core should work. i use it sometimes without issues. im not sure about cd games tho. i havent tried any of those. if you are using the standalone bubble, you dont need to worry about loading the core. just select load content.

for not being able to see your roms, that is because retroarch is considered a "safe" homebrew so it blocks all the other folders to prevent people from doing something dumb. you are better off adding your roms in the data/retroarch folder. i know it sucks having to place your roms in two different places but if you dont use a pce emu for psp/adrenaline, then they dont need to be in the pspemu folder anyway.

Thanks a lot for the great reply! I was messing around all day with the standalone...putting the core by hand, editing the .cfg file...I was getting pretty close but no matter what I did I couldn't load content. On a whim I decided to try the All In One installer. Bingo!

The all in one installer is bigger but it worked right away. The PCE emulation is awesome!

I use PCEP also through VHBL but its weird and buggy with lots of the CD games. I used to use Mednafen on the WII and there were only a few games that had problems so I should be good now.

Thanks again for the reply.

On Mednafen core?

Efera & Jiloria doesn't work on any emulator I've tried. Sucks 'cause its a surprisingly good game.

Also the only emulator I can find that properly runs the animation scenes from Popful Mail is PCEP (Thats what started me using it).

I used to have problems with the 4in1 Super CD Sampler with WiiMednafen too...but haven't tried it yet with Retroarch Mednafen...

Does anybody know what was the last All-in-One Nightly that still supported Fast Forward? I tried the one hiroakihsu posted (10/16) but FF is already broken on it.

I saw the later builds are supposed to be not as good, and saw someone link the 10/16 build. Does anyone have the all in one version of that?

edit: just downloaded the latest instead

Have you tried the Genesis GX Plus core for Popful Mail? Sega CD version runs great for me.

This thread seems to be the best place to ask, how does any of the Pokémon NDS Games runs on this?

They dont. Retroarch doesnt emulate nds.

There is a ds emulator for vita called desmume but last i read, it doesnt run well and not sure if it ever will.
