How much shall we wait for a n3ds 11.2 menuhax, browserhax or youtubehax? And they are even working on those?? Because really it seems like they wanna force us to buy cubic ninja or zelda.. And that's pretty annoying i want homebrew my n3ds and i wanna do that for free :/ and the only game i have is pokemon moon.. Maybe someone can help me? Anyone please i just want to put some generated pokemons on my ds to do competitive plays :/
How about you try doing them yourself? People are working on them but it takes time, so get off of your high horse and WAIT.

No-one's forcing you to do anything. Exploitable games are necessary because they're all that work at the moment.

People who discover exploits and develop hax don't owe you anything. Stop acting entitled and either buy an exploitable game or deal with having no homebrew.

Wanna bet in 3+ months no free homebrew hacks will come out? For 11.2 and if it takes so much they're not working propperly on them probably.. And as u see i am not a programmer i wouldn't write that post if i was a programmer but well i guess i have to buy an action replayer and do things in the old way

Do you know how long we waited until the first homebrew exploits shown up? Years. You know how long it took for browserhax to return after Nintendo shut it down? I think it was about a year. Finding new exploits in things that have been already patched once is inredibly hard. And trust me, I know you are no programmer, otherwise you wouldn't be asking such idiotic questions.
As for your, from previous post, "really it seems like they wanna force us to buy cubic ninja or zelda". Why would they? They are not the developers of those games, they don't get ANYTHING from someone buying it. It's just that Nintendo has literally no way to patch Cubic Ninja and for whatever weird reason they are not touching Ocarina of Time.

They already tried back when they implemented PASLR and cut off Cubic Ninja's permissions. Also note that OoT as a digital install requires homebrew access on that particular 3DS anyway, so it's the same as the (already mentioned) PSMD for example, and Nintendo obviously has no control over cartridges that already exist.

It's because it's a game made by Nintendo. Same reason they're not taking PMSD of the eShop.
That's the thing I mean with the weird thing. There is no point in taking it down, but it would be sure nice as hell if they PATCHED it at least. They force 3rd parties to update their games, while they leave their own broken.

Also note that OoT cannot be a primary eShop when it's a digital install; so it's the same as (already mentioned) PSMD, for example, and Nintendo obviously has no control over cartridges that already exist.
Technically, OoT is not a primary either way, as Powersaves is required to install it. And it doesn't matter for them, primary or not, any exploitable game is coming down, like Ironfall for example.
As for their lack of control over already existing cartridges - they have partial control over it. Again, Ironfall. In 10.7 update they made it so you can't run it until it's patched to newest version. They could do the same for OoT, make it so once 11.3 (or 12.0) comes out, you can't run non-updated OoT on it. Doesn't affect older firmwares, sure, but makes it impossible to exploit newest firmware.

This will never happen for obvious reasons. What if someone purchases a 3DS that comes on 11.3/12.0 and owns a copy of OoT3D, but has no access to Wi-Fi internet? They cannot play OoT. I very much imagine that Nintendo would like to avoid such situations.

Well, evidently not, given that PSMD and OoT3D are up and unpatched.

I misspoke; I meant that with cartridges you could use another 3DS or sometimes a Powersaves, whereas digital copies require homebrew access on the particular 3DS.

Alright, I will give you that. Tho I guess they could somewhat go around it, by pre-installing the patch on the console.

Well, yeah, by what I said I meant any game that isn't theirs.

Which is exactly the point that GalladeGuy made in the first place. It's quite obvious that Nintendo wants to avoid losing sales for their own games, so they keep them up even if they're secondary exploits. Nothing weird about it.

guys sorry for hijacking the thread for a few seconds, has anyone tried removing a9lh on a O3DS/2DS that was previously downgraded via fieldrunners dsiware hack then updated to official 11.2 and later downgrade it again because you know regrets for removing it to install a9lh again? will the hacked save file still work? it is now unhacked but legit fieldrunners is there and all files including the hacked save are still intact in the SD card? i couldnt try it right now as i am at work but this just crossed my mind right now and probably anyone has tried it and will it work? actually gave the 2DS and the owner for some reason flashed the pre-a9lh nand backup due to personal reasons and now wants it back to the way it was..

edit: nvm i tried it and the hacked save still worked, i just updated the boot.nds file to latest version for it to be able to read the NFIRM downgrade file as it was previously downgraded from 11.1 but now it was on 11.2 that needs to be downgraded, long story short all is good, and that Fieldrunners game is really handy..

Is it true you can still use Steelhax on 11.2 using the 11.1 payload?
And do you still have to hold the B button for it to work?

Just to know for sure, so I don't always go to ctr-httpwn if I wanna go online :)

Read through the thread: Steelhax works on 11.2 with the 11.1 payload.

That being said, I really don't recommend upgrading from 11.1 (or 11.0) to 11.2 if you ever feel as though you may want to (easily) downgrade your 3DS in the future. Having to use ctr-httpwn may be a minor inconvenience, but keeping your options open by remaining on 11.1 is a better idea, in my view.

I have no plans in doing downgrades nor CFWs tho, (Haven't tried it either, and probably never will, after hearing horror stories from that Sun/Moon banwave) so I'll just stick to HB.
IIRC, I think I did these steps when updating from 11.0 to 11.1 before: https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/c...e_1100_steelhax_a_steeldiver_subwars/d7cvn5j/
So I guess it's time to update now I guess...
(I still have another unit with HB @ 11.0 as backup)

You'll need to install the new installer first before updating to 11.2

I misunderstood that and ending up getting stuck on 11.2 with no way to access homebrew. :(
