Ah another idea, how about having an indicator in the game list for games it detects already on the flash. Like a check mark behind the number or something to that affect (like the star for trainer.)

Nice suggestion Brenex.

I have one myself that I've seen requested before. Instead of having to delete a rom to remove it from your library list, it would be nice to have the option to simply remove it from the list without deleting the game. I've tried to remove roms before and only ended up deleting them from my hdd.

Suggestion: When you hit the red X, a dialog asks if you want to remove the game from the list, or delete it permanently

But um, I'm having that database update problem I keep reading about (where users write that deleting the settings then re updating allows the renaming etc to work again) But I can't find the settings. I've searched my entire computer for .rsd files and can't find but like one, unrelated to Rominator (I'm using XP). I'd appreciate any suggestions

Nice icons salamence

Edit:
I forgot about this problem I always encountered because I've changed my flash location to desktop so I don't get this notice/error dialog anymore when I start Rominator that says no flash drive in whatever location, please insert it, and it will have a 'cancel' 'try again' and 'continue' button. When I used to have my flash drive location settings set to my actual flash drive, but didn't have my card in the reader (because how often do we really have it in our computer and not our NDS), this dialog would keep coming up, no matter what one of the three buttons I hit, until Rominator crashed.

Suggestion: Maybe not check to see if the card is in the reader when the program starts. Do that check when it's necessary (life if I hit the flash drive button in the program, which already checks I know)

I'm not sure if you follow along, but this feature to remove from the list is already available

If you hold Shift and press the delete button, it'll remove the game from the list. However, this'll be switched with v4.0, you don't have to hold anything when deleting to remove the game, but if you hold Shift and press the delete button, it'll prompt and allow for total deletion off your drive.

The settings is in C:/Documents and Settings/~Your User Name~/Application Data/Rominator Data. Application Data is an invisible folder, so make sure you can see invisible files/folders.

Again, it's already been mentioned SEVERAL times regarding the flash card prompting for a flash card in the card reader, and I already know about it. This is because Windows is looking for the card data if the drive is mounted (aka Windows sux) and won't stop until it finds something. How stupid. Either way, I'm trying to find a workaround -- if any. Might have to add a manual-scan of the flash location for Windoze users.

@Brenex:
I was thinking about it, but again it would cause problems with the above about the drive existing but nothing in the drive, so I opted against it.

@salamence502:
Still not quite what I'm looking for

It's too complex, and doesn't look good when scaled down. Regarding making skins, I posted the link to the Skin Designer a while back -- I'll put it in my sig. It's easy as pie -- click on the areas to change the pictures, save your skin, email the skin to me, I put it in the online database

K, I'll think of other icons, but not today, I just came back from a friends house, and now it's 8 PM, and I'm tierd. I'll make a couple of nice skins and upload them for the community.

Thanks!

Double post again... sorry.

How 'bout this one? It took me a while to do.

It's an electrical panel, sticking out of an DS cart.

Hope you (finally) like this one.

Is this the right place to report database errors, if it is then number 1085 Code Lyoko should be a (U) release not an (E).

Thanks for the reply. I guess I was confused about what shift delete did. I thought it simply avoided moving it to the recycle bin when the rom was deleted. I will use it now. But sounds like v4 will make it clear

I've found the settings files by manually entering in the application data folder in explorer.
Suggestion: Let the user choose settings destination

Oh, and manually scanning the flash drive could be OK, right?

Yay, you like it! Sure, show me. But will I have to remake that variation? Or will you use the one you're making now?

EDIT: BTW, where do you live in Canada? I'm in Montreal, Quebec.

I will remake the variation -- and give you credit for the idea

Just a thought; Have you thought of adding links for each game to the game's page on gamespot where there are a bunch of user submitted reviews and such?

I always find myself searching on gamespot to see if I should try out a game. What do you think?

Hrm, why do all my icons look like this in Skin Designer?

Picture1-18.png

When I open the PNG elsewhere, it appears normally.

Oh, wanted to let you know:
Hold off right now on the skins. I'll be adding in skin compression which'll bring the size down drastically. I made my Super Mario Bros skin go from 2.4MB to 68K. This weekend I'll be releasing an updated Rominator as well as an updated Skin designer to support this compression. Any skins that you've made right now won't be read by the new skin designer, so I can compress them for you
