Where do I go to reset my folder count? (When you create 20 folders and create another one, it's created with the name 21. I want to reset so that when I create a folder it now creates counting from 1)

Not sure why it should matter, but whatever. Here you go, deleting the following folder will reset your folders and such.
navigating to the following folder on your SD card: /Nintendo 3DS/(32 Character ID)/(32 Character ID)/extdata/00000000/
  • EUR Region: Delete 00000098
  • JPN Region: Delete 00000082
  • USA Region: Delete 0000008f
  • CHN Region: Delete 000000A1
  • KOR Region: Delete 000000A9
  • TWN Region: Delete 000000B1

This resets your homescreen layout.

This resets your homescreen layout.
Doing that only resets which apps you unwrapped (excluding DSiWare and System ones) and which of them are on each folder. Tested right now and it still creates a folder named 25. The last time I did something quite similar to this was when I resetted my FC without formatting, which involved going into CTRNAND and deleting some file over there.

The folder count is stored on Home Menu's system savedata (Launcher.dat) on offset 0xD80. I've only been able to access and edit that file by switching to test menu, since home menu prevents other applications from accessing its savedata while running.

How can I do this? The only launcher.dat I've ever encountered was Gateway's.

According to TCRF:
If L + R + B + Down is held down during startup, a confirmation message will appear asking if you want to delete the HOME Menu management information.

I tested this some time ago and it deletes all folders and resets its count, wraps gifts etc. Also you'll start to get notifications on how to use home menu again.

Isn't this the same as deleting the 0000008f inside "\Nintendo 3DS\(32 Character ID)\(32 Character ID)\extdata\00000000\"? When you delete it and boot your console, it says "Creating HOME Menu management information" and everything gets deleted, excluding the folder count.

Also, I have full a9lh+BootCTR9+Luma3DS, if there's any modded-only extreme option.

Well, I thought it was the same, but on my non-cfw 3DS folder count was reset after doing this.
Tried pressing them on boot, just gave me a blank black screen forever. And I can't uninstall a9lh to do this because I'm using EmuNAND.

That's strange. It can take up to few minutes to recreate everything, but that's all.
Edit: EmuNAND possibly is the problem if it's linked to SysNAND.

It didn't gave a message asking to delete HOME Menu management information, it just stayed black. For 3 minutes.

Where can I find it so that I can reset the folder count?
