Ah ok good to know thanks. What's the best way of disabling full directory access then? (I don't want to accidentally delete/overwrite anything in the future)
taihenkaku molecule on its own will deny full access. use molecule unless vitashell is needed.

Argh, I think I spoke too soon. When Adrenaline launches, I get error C0-9252-8 and it crashes to home. Resetting and rebuilding database haven't fixed it. Next to nothing on Google about this error too.. Any ideas?

I think that might have been the error I got when I first installed it. I rebuilt the database and made sure taihenkaku was loaded. I dont remember exactly.
Possibly it was a different error. If you figure it out let me know. If I encounter it ill mention it here.

What you need
Vita/PSTV 3.60 TaiHenkaku ( beta.henkaku.xyz )
VitaShell 1.42 ( https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/VitaShell/releases )
AdrenalineEasyInstaller ( http://www.mediafire.com/file/woe2cjy7u0c8weo/AdrenalineEasyInstaller.vpk )
Vita-IDU ( https://github.com/xyzz/vita-idu/releases )
Package Manager( http://www.mediafire.com/?0qtmiv5sasr8hdm )
VitaRW ( http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=59861660726945053656 )
661.PBP ( http://www.filecluster.com/downloads/PSP-Playstation-Portable-Firmware.html )
QCMA ( https://codestation.github.io/qcma/ )
NA ( http://zeus.dl.playstation.net/cdn/...GS2kHjqiIFYGw3BLuEXbwX6I1YQGJHNuF3n2UqMpT.pkg ) Guide uses this as a base. change the title id and license file accordingly. upon installing the package an existing license file will give you the correct name to name ur vitashell rif to and replace it.
EU ( http://zeus.dl.playstation.net/cdn/...ptjJAGS6r3u5Fo9hCe2jBx2r5rYbDBeiCUI3r037G.pkg )
FTP Client (FileZilla) ( https://filezilla-project.org/ )
DB Browser for SQLite 3.9.1 ( https://github.com/sqlitebrowser/sqlitebrowser/releases )

Steps

Step 1: Install QCMA, FileZilla, DB Browser on ur PC. Place the package file in the designated qcma package folder. Default is Documents/PSV Packages
Step 2: Install taiHen and use Molecular Shell to install VitaShell 1.42 if you haven't already
Step 3: Reboot your Vita, install taiHen again, and open VitaShell to gain access to all files.
Step 4: Start an FTP server, and place 661.PBP in ux0:/pspemu/adrenaline
Step 5: Go to ux0:/license/app/VITASHELL and download the license file to your PC
Step 6: Rename that license file to UP1023-NPUH90046_00-0000000000000002.rif
Step 7: Install Easy Adrenaline Installer
Step 8: Install Vita-IDU
Step 9: Setup the package manager. Install VitaRW, then use filezilla to transfer the files you downloaded to vs0:/app/NPXS10031 Replace all files.
Step 10: Copy app.db from ur0:/shell/db to ur pc and open it in DB Browser. Follow this guide ( http://hackinformer.com/PlayStationGuide/PSV/tutorials/how_to_create_the_pkg_installer_bubble.html )
Step 11: Upon replacing app.db reboot the system and start up taihenkaku.
Step 12: If you haven't done so already, link ur Vita/PSTV to QCMA. Then launch the IDU app and enable idu mode. Disconnect from the internet and reboot. This is a must or it will attempt to auto update.
Step 13: Once booted hold L(L1),R(R1),Up DPad,Start until demo disappears. This lasts 5 Minutes so be quick. Connect to internet and Open Package Manager
Step 14: Select the package file and install it. If you followed these instructions to the fullest it should succeed.
Step 15: Install taiHen and launch IDU app and disable idu mode and reboot.
Step 16: Install taiHen and launch VitaShell and start the ftp server. Copy the license file from your pc from Step 6 to ux0:/pspemu/PSP/License Replacing the one thats already there.
Step 17: Exit VitaShell and Start the Easy Installer and select NPUH90046 to install it to. Let it reboot. Power off and boot into Recovery and rebuild database as a safety measure.
Step 18: Install taiHen and boot Adrenaline. It should boot assuming everything went smoothly.
Step 19: Enjoy

If anybody wants to rewrite this feel free. I pieced together various info from several guides and don't really feel like doing it all proper like. This removes the need of PSP/PS3 so should help anyone who missed the PSN Deadline.

Update: There is now a more convenient way to keep your vita from updating while in idu mode. It also makes it convenient to upgrade directly to 3.60 from any firmware below it. You can find more info here: http://wololo.net/2016/12/03/henkaku-update-server-easy-way-update-ps-vita-fw-3-60/

Tried replacing my add.db back to original, rebuilding. Reinstalling adrenaline, rebuilding. Same error all times..

Just to confirm - you got this to work on an unactivated/factory reset Vita?

Did you try running the HM Hero demo prior to installing adrenaline? (I did for the heck of it between adrenaline reinstalls, it gives me the error "You must download this application again from the download list in the PS Store". I wonder if this is possibly due to the fact that this Vita was never previously activated.. maybe there's a flag set somewhere which is failing..

Mine is activated but you said it did work at least once right and the error is no longer an activation error? perhaps something became corrupted?

Ah ok, that probably explains it then. It's unlikely this method works for unactivated/factory reset Vita's unless someone else is able to confirm otherwise.

It never worked once unfortunately. Using the .rif file from this guide removes the activation error (I overreacted earlier once this was gone thinking I was all set). However, once you get to the PSP "Warning" splash screen, the C0-9252-8 error pops-up and adrenaline crashes.

I did find some info regarding that error. It is possible the game iss imply not compatible with adrenaline for w/e reason. it might be fixable but finding or using a different game might resolve the issue. this error occured with vhbl stuff it seems and some games just dont cooperate. im using the one found here which you might have missed. http://zeus.dl.playstation.net/cdn/...GS2kHjqiIFYGw3BLuEXbwX6I1YQGJHNuF3n2UqMpT.pkg

Following your guys progress on this, it would be awesome if this method did work for completely unactivated Vita devices. Both of my devices are activated and running Adrenaline so I can't really test much here.

Actually that's the same one I tried - Half-Minute Hero demo (6.9MB) (from the reddit IDU thread)

Good thinking - I'll go back and try the OP's pkg and one or two others via IDU.
I'm tired now. so ill check back when i get up and see if you managed to get it working with any other games. you do live in new zealand (i think based on gbatemps thingy) so a eu app might work for you instead at least.

Mine is activated so I'm wondering if that's the issue people are having.i am at work at the minute so cant test stuff. If I get a chance to night I am going to have a look at the ACT.DAT file and see if it can be opened and subsequently spoofed (everyone on unactivated has been able to install taihen so we have file access - it may have to use VITA-RW but its worth a look)

The package manager files you are linking to seem to be the one from this thread http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=46699, it's the DEX version and you don't need IDU mode to make it work so you can skip a bunch of (possibly dangerous) steps.

If anyone wants to get a head start and has an activated VITA.

The ACT.DAT is located tm0:npdrm/act.dat

DONT DELETE OR ALTER IT without a backup else you may be screwed.

If I ever needed to restore my vita to default, do you know if just restoring that file and rebooting will re-activate it or is there more to it?

If an unactivated vita is one of the suspected factor that make this method impossible, why not activating it to have one less worry? Speaking for myself I have an unactivated vita, been trying to activate it, there are some methods out there to activate it, but I have no success, there's this vita activator vpk that I use but it gives me an error saying IDPS is invalid, then there's this website that you can enter your PSN account info and IDPS number so that it can connect to the Sony website and fetch your act.dat for you, that hasn't work for me either.

Ok,

For the Unactivated.....

It seems this works if you are activated.

All hope is not lost though.......

You need one of these: http://www.vitadevwiki.com/index.php?title=Act.dat

But to make one is a little hit and miss, some report it works and others say its not working

Try This: http://wololo.net/2016/08/20/release-vita-activator-activate-3-60-ps-vita-without-ps3/ DONT FORGET THE MANUAL STEP AT THE END. Move the file THEN reset.

Still no good?

Try this: http://wololo.net/2016/08/18/release-vitacid-get-ps-vita-console-id/ combined with this https://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-act-dat-generator-website.438592/

Also - not that it matters too much - but my files are EU, that might be another factor , hence why some say yay and others say nay.

If you are activated & Followed the steps with my files - the lack of bubble is due to the .rif not being named correctly. Double check your typing and you havent accidently called it .rif.rif

AND

After reading up on this it seems that differnt versions of Vita activator have better success rates.

Start here --> https://github.com/ZombieWizzard/vita-activator/releases and see which one works for you

Incorrect. I replaced the files and pointed a bubble to it. It did not launch unless i was in idu mode. Don't spread false information. I tested it myself. Hence why i bothered writing my steps at all.
