It really is a good program. Made my life a whole lot easier tracking down the Japanese names/ covers for a lot of games thanks to the release list with covers and screenshots.

I just started using it, but I'm still trying to figure out if I can add my already trimmed games to the library?..... Seems the program only wants to add untrimmed roms and copy/ trim them itself. Sorry, I'm kind of retarded. I'm gonna play around with it some more.

EZTrim is great too. Being able to read rar files is really handy.

Thanks! The release list was something everybody asked for in v1.XX so I figured it would be an important part of the new program.

I've not really thought about people adding already trimmed roms to the library, I'm not entirely sure it'll work. It should let you add them to the database unless the trimmer you used altered the header in some way, but copying them to the card with Trim Roms switched on might cause it to crash. Of course if all your games are already pre-trimmed you can leave Trim Roms switched off and it won't cause a problem, it just copies the file whole.

EDIT: I've just been told that there's a bug when entering unpacked .NDS files into the library so this could be causing the problem above. I'm going to work on it and post a fix later.

EZTrim really is the simplest trimmer! It's what I used to create the basic engine for R4 Commander V2.0, hence the boxart and release database!

Browse MicroSD Card option added to Utils menu. Brings up a browser with a list of games already on your card in your roms folder (shows game name rather than file name). Choosing delete removes the game and save file if one exists on the card.

Now accepts up to 3 file types for a homebrew pack. ie DSMasterPlus = .SMS, .GG, ZXDS = .SNA, .Z80, .TAP

Splash screen now appears when program is loading up. Shows R4 Commander for all carts but M3 Simply which displays M3S Commander.

Switching to M3 Simply mode displays M3S Commander splash screen briefly.

If a game you're adding has a save in the library it displays it in the build list.

Added search option to game library.

Added drop down lists in game library window for easy filtering.

Bugs Found
----------
Wasn't accepting unpacked .NDS files. (Fixed)

From you're library should read from your library! (Fixed)

Clear MicroSD Card keeps the old path if used directly after changing the drive. (Fixed)

You had to have a country filter selected before cart size filter worked. (Fixed)

Multiple games with the same .NDS name showed as the same game in the Game Library list. (Fixed)

When adding files to the library it showed the item above while unpacking. (Fixed)

1053 - Open Season (E) (Wet N Wild) missing from release list. (Fixed)

Yeah, sorry I should have said in the post. I've updated the file on the server so the link in the first post is good and I've also updated the file in the download center.

Wow.. great to see how fast you're working on this thing, Dave :-)

Could I throw a feature request your way? I'd love to be able to sort the game library by category.

I'd just noticed the 'not importing .nds' problem - but you fixed it before I got a chance to post. Now THAT'S service :-p

Also, I love the emulator pack idea - it set me off playing with old SNES roms, which is never a bad thing. Also, after the few meagre DS fighters released so far, it did my heart good to fire up Street Fighter 2 Turbo for a good thrashing :-)

Thanks again!

A couple more cheeky feature requests, while I think of them. These are just ideas, your time is your own, brother :-)

A "space remaining on microSD" number / bar / etc would be very cool.

Also, if there were a way to refresh the available drive selection for the microSD, it'd help. If I don't have my card mounted when I launch R4C, I have to restart it to use it, now.

Ooh, and I think I found a bug :-) I changed my card type to M3, and noticed the changed links in the 'WWW' menu. However, when I restarted R4C it had reverted these links back to the R4DS pages.

Possibly one of the greatest ROM managers available. Well done and thanks!

I've created a few more packs today with Picodrive, SNemulDS 0.5beta, ComicBookDS 2.2 and DSOrganize 2.7final which I'll put up for download later. Making it easier to install emulators and apps was the original idea of R4 Commander. There's nothing like SNES on the go!

As for your cheeky requests, well you can just... heh nah just kidding... how's this

Free Space Bar : Added one in. It grabs the free space on the drive whenever you start the program up or change the drive and uses that number until you copy the build to the card. Space used is shown as red and free space is shown as green. Is this similar to what you were thinking?

Refreshing the drive list : I can't seem to get the software to do an automatic refresh of the drives and update the drop down list. I'm going to try to write some code to do it but I'm just learning so can't promise anything just yet!

I've updated the files on the server if anyone wants to download the update. It'll probably be ready for a first release by tomorrow night. I just need to make a few alterations and put in the download center and it's done. I've had lots of suggestions I'm going to put in but they'll have to be in a future release. To save the hassle of going back to the first post here's the links (Pick your preferred format!) :

http://www.dpgdownloads.com/trolleyguy/Com...0beta.Setup.rar
http://www.dpgdownloads.com/trolleyguy/Com...0beta.Setup.zip

Anyway todays build contains the following :

Latest changes
--------------
MicroSD card browser shows if a game has a save on the card as well.
MicroSD card browser allows you to import saves individually.
Added Progress setting to game library.
Free Space progress bar in main window shows how much of the free space on the card is used up.
You can now select multiple countries when filtering the game library list.
Release list now stored in zip format on the server for quicker downloading.

Bugs Found
----------
Homebrew details have stopped showing in the main window! D'oh! (Fixed)
Resizing the release list window expands the screenshot. (Fixed)
Audio/video files don't add to the build correctly. (Fixed)
Cartridge size filter still doesn't work correctly. (Fixed)
M3 Simply WWW Sites reset to R4DS WWW sites after exiting the program. (Fixed)
Release 0621 was stored as 0622 causing wrong boxart + screenshot and wrong name. (Fixed)
Free space doesn't refresh when you change MicroSD drive. (Fixed)

Also I've created a few more packs which I've put links to in the first post as well as here...

Just uploaded a quick update with error checking when opening the classic browser and a drop down list to filter the country in the release list.

Yeah, I just overwrite the file on the server each time so any link is always good.

Don't know what's going on with the file browser then. If it's alright with you I'll put some debugging code in with step by step details of what's happening and send it to you. If you could let me know where it's stopping I might be able to track it down.

Sure, I'm up for that. Just send me the link whenever.

Heya Yukine,

I just tried out Mario Kart DS on WFC (which I'd copied over using the R4C trimmer), and it seems to be working fine :-)
