Hi guys.
I need some help on doing the dsiware downgrade. Specifically with recovering the data back such as friend code and friends and that nand stuff.
I tried using Decrypt9 but it doesn't work on 9.2+ consoles I guess. Is there any way of doing the 3ds system tranfer twice without waiting a whole week? Or can I do a nand backup that I can restore once I have sucessfully installed arm9hax?

Thanks in advance

The Dsiware downgrade involves losing all of your nand data such as Streetpass Mii Plaza and friend list data. The only way to keep that data is to transfer your stock system to your hacked system, download the game, then transfer back after injecting the save. Decrypt9 only works on 9.2 and there's no way around the 7 day limit because it's stored on Nintendo's servers. The only way to make a nand backup on 11.x is by using the Dsiware method and at that point, (If you didn't transfer your stock system to your hacked system) all of your nand data will be gone.

If you're not concerned about using your NNID if you have one attached to the source system (specifically, eShop access and other online system apps) or doing another System Transfer right away, you can just restore a NAND backup to your "source" 3DS and it will restore friend codes and the offline system stuff (including installed apps and themes, if you have an SD card backup handy or didn't wipe the source system's SD). Online play for games should work fine, as should StreetPass and SpotPass. Then, once your week is up, make a NAND backup, System Transfer back to re-link your NNID, then restore the NAND backup.

Well, here I am again.

I made it! it was all perfect to 9.2 downgrade. but when I have installed the arm9loaderhax using Plailect's github guide the screens all turned black. I can't even boot on recovery mode... I just bricked my 3DS right? I'm hoping I didn't do it but nothing seems to work.

I have a firm backup from the dsiExploit and a full nand backup from decrypt9

If it is not a blue screen it is not bricked. If it turns on and shuts off fast then you have wrong armloaderhax.bin. or missing files. If it stays on then reboot and hold select. Use a newer luma and arm9loaderhax.bin hold select. May also be missing luma or other files on sd card. I had the same issue and took several times to fix. I also used hourglass.bin to reflash my nand to 9.2.0.20 and then did the update of 9.2.0.20 again. then retried to boot and it worked.

I'm getting pretty much no response from the 3DS, no sounds, no image and everytime I try to turn it on (with or without the sdcard) alongside with the blackscreens I have to forceturn off the 3ds.

Hold select when turning it on. It should bring you to the config page. Hold A if it shuts off You may be missing the payload files as well as other files. What files are on your sd card and folders. Also you may have to use the guide on installing on a delete SD card. Also if you do a CTRTransfer and nand.bin restore may get it to work if that does not work may be something else wrong.

The thing is I am getting no screen at all, even pressing start for hourglass9 or select for luma or Y for emunand or L,R,A,UP to that recovery update screen. The luma is the most recent version (downloaded today) and I'm gonna send some prints if you need to know the files...

If you hold A while powering on does your 3ds turn off then your armloaderhax.bin
is working. And just missing files. also may nee firmware.bin

the boot.3dsx is the wrong one as well so you will have to use the deleted sd tuturial card as well. as the bellow info

also where is arm9.bin, arm11.bin, slotx25keyx.bin, and slotx11key96.bin
not sure if need but should be on root of sd card

http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-a9lh-users-recover-from-formatted-deleted-sd-card.444161/

That looks like the wrong armloaderhax.bin plus Luma3ds.dat is missing of course it wont work. may also need firmware.bin on root sd card. Im trying to think what else.
https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases Put that on the SD card
in the luma folder delete the config file
Also what is in the luma\payload\ folder

Also delete extra data in the /Nintendo 3DS/(32 Character ID)/(32 Character ID)/extdata/00000000/ on your SD card
  • EUR Region: Delete 00000098
  • JPN Region: Delete 00000082
  • USA Region: Delete 0000008f
  • CHN Region: Delete 000000A1
  • KOR Region: Delete 000000A9
also try this armloaderhax.bin if that does not work
https://mega.nz/#!YxMiGDhB!VZLv2XPSqFFzEhf4kGMXAdQtSpIGvnp2vu2W1j4o7cc/

also check a9hl folder
Files that maybe missing
firm0.bin
firm1.bin
otp.bin
payloadstage1.bin
payloadstage2.bin
secretsector.bin

restart hold start should bring you to hourglass.
restore nand
restart hold y ctransfer to 9.2.0.20
update folder will not work
put 9.2.0.20 ctransfer files on files9 folder

if you have firmware.bin on your sd card hit start if no hourglass the 3ds will start

Luma3ds.dat is missing
v6.3.1
15571693
AuroraWright released this 21 days ago · 58 commits to master since this release

  • Increased the maximum custom path size to 55 characters from 37.
  • The Luma3DS.dat file isn't needed anymore with the new .3dsx (*hax, menuhax) launchers,arm9loaderhax.bin (or the filename specified with the custom payload path) will be loaded directly.
  • Replaced the top screen image in the .nds file.
Reuploaded because people reported the CakeBrah .3dsx launchers wrongly displaying the .dat filename when arm9loaderhax.bin was not found, Luma3DS itself was not updated.
I have another 3ds that also don't Luma3DS.dat that's not the problem.
I even got to the Luma Configuration Screen on the other 3ds with the same card. So it's not the problem.

I'm gonna record a video since I think I'm not being able to express myself

You need to restore your nand in hourglass and then do a ctransfer may have to do the ctransfer twice and restore nand once again

also check a9hl folder
Files that maybe missing
firm0.bin
firm1.bin
otp.bin
payloadstage1.bin
payloadstage2.bin
secretsector.bin

do the a9hl sd delete guide it is some where on gbatemps

do you have the firmware bin on the sd card

https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki/Installation-and-upgrade

if armloaderhax is installed

Press power once but hold A for a few seconds
the 3ds should shut down This always work if armloaderhax is installed and means something else is the problem like missing files or wifi got dislodged. if wifi is dislodge A may not work.

Press power once but hold select
should load luma screen

Press power once but hold start
should load hourglass

If not you still may have the wrong armloaderhax.bin (may not be the armloaderhax.bin wifi card may be problem have to take back off push wifi back into place)
what files are in the luma\payload

wait a minute may take awhile to load 3ds first time

Press power once but hold A
the 3ds should shut down
Press power once but hold select
should load luma screen
Press power once but hold start
should load hourglass

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

luma\payload folder should have latest
files need (buttonname_) before them
examples

start_hourglass.bin
y_decrpt9.bin
down_safea9lhinstaller.bin
x_godmod.bin

do these button bring you to any of these screens

reboot hold a (turns off 3ds)
reboot hold start
reboot hold y
reboot hold x
reboot hold down

last but not lease
SD card may be corrupted
copy every thing on sd card to pc
format sd card
copy files back to sd card

That's me trying to boot the 3ds

OTP is not needed for New Nintendo 3ds right? since there's no downgrade to 2.1.0 for the N3DS

the rest of the files are all on the folder

That's not correct. You can downgrade a New 3DS to 2.1 with o3ds ctr Transfer. Did you use the non otp method or did you downgrade?
Can you use the recovery mode?

Plailect's guide leaves a million steps out didn't know their was a non otp method.

Very weird if bricked

GET rid of boot.3dsx and 3ds folder, theme

Usually If powering on and holding A did not turn off 3ds a9hl is not installed.
And if a9hl is install the 3ds shuts off after 2 seconds with missing files.

sounds more like a gateway to downgrade or install a9hl delete 3ds folder and boot.3dsx reinstall

If you have firmware.bin on the root of the sd card and hold start on powering up should have blue screen of death to confirm a brick.

Did you SafeA9LHInstaller from web browser

Homebrew loader SafeA9LHInstaller = brick with out otp I just heard

Huh? There is a poll here for the N3DS with 101 confirmed successful installs. There were 2 bricks who used an earlier version before SD card was checked prior to install to make sure it was not corrupt.

I have done 2 myself successfully, 1 N3DS XL NA and 1 N3DS LL JAP, no issues whatsover with the both freakyhax and ninjahax respectively.

The first attempt I got black screen, I let it sit for 20 secs then rebooted. Next attempt was successful.
