the forwarder IS a channel.
In all cases, you will need a device to store the settings, the covers, and all the files used by USBLoaderGX, so why not ALSO put the executable on that same device?

There is a "full channel" version, but it's OLD, and not working on vWii.
If you find a vWii Full channel version, it's a bad one made by random users.
the full channel can't be updated automatically anymore for two reasons :
1. because of vWii release and no detection possible to prevent installation of the wrong version, it would replace the wiiU version with the Wii one, etc.
2. because the loader no longer has any code to write to the console's memory (brick prevention), so it can't update the channel automatically on each new release.

the full channel version is deprecated and support is dropped.

just install the forwarder, it works better.

hello , thank you for the tutorial , softmoded my wii u with this <3
Is there a way to install usbloadergx, as a channel tho ( i have it on my wii because someone jailbreaked it for me ) ? i tried looking online and all i could found was a forwarder ..

I'm not certain, but out of curiosity why would you want the channel rather than the forwarder? It locks you in at a specific version of the app and is generally just less well supported. Are you wanting to be able to launch the channel without having to put in an SD card?

EDIT:: Super ninja'd by Cyan.

I see, thank you for clearing things up :)

sorry , just saw your post , it's because i switch HDD drives and memory cards often , i didn't want to worry about not having the needed files to run UsbLoader everytime , plus if i ever gave my wiiu away , i wouldn't have to include the HDD along with it.

Hello,

Just a stupid question but can I use the same SDCARD for Wii U + Loadiine AND vWii + Homebrew Channel + USB Loader (not for the hack of course, but after the install of the Homebrew Channel) ?

And also, if I have an USB stick pluged in the 1 first usb port for Wii U datas (so wii u formatted), can I leave it and plug my other USB Stick into the second port (the aux. one normally use for supply HDD) for vWii Games/Dump etc ? Or should I only left one USB stick plugged in for vWii ?

Thanks a lot mates :)

yes you can have all of that in one SD card provided all files are in the right folders..

you can but it's a headache to setup to work with all homebrew at the same time, it's not supported by the developers (you wont get support/answers/tutorials/etc.), you'd better just swap the HDD to the one you need. that's easier, and have less issues, even if it seems annoying to walk to the console to change the HDD cable manually.

Just have one shipped to you from ebay, that's what I did even tho it took a while, these games are really cheap, and make sure it's the same region as your wii u.

-snip-

thanks for the read

I'm having the same issue. Same setup, when I try to launch a game in CFG Loader, for example Super Mario Galaxy on IOS249 it says the following:

[*] Booting game, please wait...

IOS(249) .....
IOS Reload: Blocked
ERROR: setting up fragments -2 5
ID mismatch: [RMGE01] []
ERROR: SetWBFS: -3

Press any button to exit...

All cIOSes are installed as the guide says, so I have no idea what the issue is here. SysCheck in spoiler. Loading from SD card, FAT32, shared with Wii U homebrew. d2x was installed before IOS236. Using an HDD/Any kind of USB based storage is not an option.

which dumper did you use?
it looks like the ISO is bad, and the expected GameID couldn't be found in the dump.

I didn't, my old SMG disk got fucked up real good from Hurricane Sandy so I grabbed a dump in WBFS format off a certain ISO site hoping it'd work. Transferred it to the SD using WiiBackupManager. Did the same thing with Wii Sports with similar results, so either both dumps are bad, something is wrong with my vWii, or I'm missing something.

I suppose Wii Backup Manager correctly detected the game, and its size?
it should have listed the GameID, etc.
But to be sure, verify the ISO. WiiBackupManager>Select the game>option>Sha1
Maybe it was named one ID but it wasn't that game (for example you think you got Zelda, but it's in fact Mario, and the ID mismatch, etc.)

I don't think it's an issue with the cIOS, but it can happen that the cIOS is not installed correctly. Usually, it crashes or make strange things (like wiimote unsync when reloading the cIOS, etc.)
Did you try other slot number ? 250 instead of 249, etc.

It's possible that the issue is the USBLoader itself. but if that's the case, it's related to a specific version/build, and it should affect all users with that version.
To know if it's a loader's issue, you can : try another version, or try another loader (USBGX or CFG Loader).

GX doesn't do SD and WiiFlow doesn't give debug info, so I've been using CFG USB Loader Mod (v70r78.10). I tried 249, 250, and 251, and I redownloaded from a different source, both files were verified by WiiBackupManager, and neither load. CFG gives the error I posted, WiiFlow black screens back to System Menu. It must just be something with my vWii, I still have my old 2009 Wii sitting around here somewhere, maybe it's time to fire that old thing up, install the cIOSes and see if it loads there. At least then I'll know it's a problem with my vWii and not the files on the SD.

Try with USB (even by connecting your SD card to an USB adapter).

There are some incompatibilities with SD card, but I don't clearly remember the issue it was nor what caused it.
I just remember SD card had an issue (maybe with MetaFortress Anti-cheat check, like kirby game ?), but I don't remember any problem with Mario galaxy.
